Undrafted Rookie

Post#1 » by keith16 » Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:14 am

If an undrafted rookie gets signed for the year, at the end of the year does he still become a restricted FA?

Also, if he signed part way through the season, does it count as one full season as far as his bird rights are concerned?

thanks

1) Can do. It's optional. If they extend a QO, he's restricted. If they don't, he's not. Whether you're drafted or not makes no difference as to whether you can be restricted or not. Any players with three years or less experience can be made into RFA's, whether they like it or not.

2) Yes.
