LAMAR ODOM
Five games without Kobe....
@Por
W 99-82 37 Minutes 10Pts 22 Rebounds
Sas
W 101-89 37 Minutes 16Pts 10 Rebounds
@Uth
W 96-81 36 Minutes 25Pts 11 Rebounds
Gsw
W 104-94 29 Minutes 9Pts 18 Rebounds
Bos
L 87-86 34 Minutes 13Pts 14 Rebounds
Tonight....... 30 Minutes 5Pts 3 Rebounds
???
So I don't need these 6 games to prove my point but the truth is Lamar seems to be much better when he handles the ball more and with kobe on the floor he has to be a shooter which obviously effects his rebounding. This is just like bynum's lack of touches on offense seem to effect his defense and rhythm on the boards...
so why not let lamar be scottie! and just bring the ball up instead of kobe or fisher...even when kobe's in the game? It seems like he does it at times but not nearly as many times as he did it when kobe was not playing...
I love watching kobe perform like he did tonight (efficient & clutch) but when lamar is going I feel like we are unbeatable. maybe its just me...

Re: LAMAR ODOM
I agree. But as I know, Lamar has had great games with Kobe too. He just has to be aggressive, on offense and defense and rebound.

Re: LAMAR ODOM
Ideally I would love to see kobe only in the low block like he did to start the season, or coming off screens and handling the ball less completely, I would like to see lamar doing most of the ball handling and I would like to see him start in place of bynum but as a point-forward and gasol at the five.
I would like to see bynum on the bench and be able dominate the game by being the MAIN go to guy on the floor with the bench squad. I would love to see odom create shots for himself by zooming by guys going left and finishing strong or creating put back opportunities for gasol.
Ideally I would love to see these things but phil has 10 rings and i have zero. so I have to watch sasha come in with 6 minutes to go in a close game and foul, foul, shoot, shoot, foul, leave. at least i don't have to see that for 2 weeks.
oh Ideally I would love to be sleeping next too two gorgeous women from the victoria secret catalog but instead I have two pillows that smell like me!

Re: LAMAR ODOM
Lamar plays better in a faster-paced offense... Along with Bynum, farmar, Brown, etc...
They don't run the Triangle that much.
Kobe, Gasol, Fish, Walton, Artest... All work better in a half-court offense... They rely heavily on the Triangle (maybe not Artest yet) and that's why Phil favors them more.
So it's not so much about starting Lamar or him playing PG, or Point Forward, it's just a different style of play that suits him.
I know he's good with the ball but you get a 6'10" guy in the set triangle and it exposes him to steals and traps... He's better when he's moving.
He's also pretty good moving without the ball in the triangle and spreading the floor. I just thing he likes running a little better.

Re: LAMAR ODOM
I think it's a coincidence. Lamar is playing the best bball of his life. He's so confident and plays so beatifully within the pace of the game. I'm so happy and proud for Lamar and for us.
