OT: Suns Players Kicks

Post#1 » by Never Fear 33 Is Here » Thu Mar 4, 2010 10:58 am

Hey people,

Just wondering if anyone knows what shoes the players are wearing these days. Specifically for me, Grant Hill's. For some reason or another it is the one thing that I struggle to find out and jsut don't know where to look.

Tried google, but that just brings up his old shoes.

Later much,

D

Well, from what i found out, his current kicks are the 2009-2010 Nike Hyperize.

Nike Hyperize are the sneakers Grant Hill currently wears on the court (2009-2010 Season)... (updated Nov 2009, information from Nike's official website)

as seen here:

and here:

Now the shoes he wore prior are the Adidas a3 Clutch.

I found all this info on this site (http://www.lakersuniverse.com/store/grant_hill_jersey_shoes.htm) , if you click on the players on the left, it will tell you what shoes they sport and what they previously wore. :D

I am currently looking into buying a pair or two of his old fila's (as i have had 2 in the past and loved them).

My favorite is:
Image

but i might get a different color (as both pairs that i had before are the ones shown above) and also pick up a pair of either:

or

Now if i really had balls, i would try and sport these:

Looks like the Nike Hyperize

as shown here:

I personally hate the shoe. Its far to much of a high top and the sides of the high top are paper thin giving no support and rub if you dont wear long sucks. But they def look pretty cool :).

Didn't the Pistons ban the hyperize because it was supposedly rolling players ankles because it didn't have enough ankle support?
I always found high ankle support to be more of a hinderance than a help because I can't run as fast when the ankle supports are too high.

When Grant was wearing Fila's they were really popular but nowadays I never see Fila's in the shoe stores, actually I don't see any Fila merchandise anymore. What happened to that company?

I've really come to dig the Hyperize Stat is wearing this year. Someone here identified and posted a pic of them, but my search function never works (actually, it says I'm not allowed to use it) so I can['t re-find the post.

Personally though, I rock the Maravich Pro-Keds and teh Adidas Originals Pro-Model II high-cut in my YMCA league. And sometimes the white patent PHX Suns Adidas lows from a few years ago. I really don't want to wear those out, though. Too cool and too hard to find now.

I really liked Hyperizers. I liked the Hyperdunks as well but because it was pretty much Kobe's shoe, I never bought a pair. I'm rocking a pair of Converses indoors at the moment but my outdoor pair of And1's have been dying and probably will need to buy a new pair within the next few months. I'm thinking about getting a pair of Hyperizers since they are readily available, only problem is that they are hella expensive. They aren't even a particular player's shoe, everyone wears them but they are still like $240AUS from Footlocker.

I'd like to get myself a pair of Nash's shoe, but they are hard to get in Australia.

I can't stand hightops. I've never been able to play in a pair. I currently have a pair of $40 generic shoes that I've worn for two years now... and I love them.

Funny how that works sometimes.

When I used to run track and cross country we kinda had a theory about expensive and flashy track/cross country spikes... and it was that someone was either really fast or really slow. Meaning they were either great and could warrant being flashy or they were wannabe's.

It's kind of the same way with basketball shoes, in my opinion. If you own an expensive pair, you'd better be pretty good, otherwise you look like a tool.

Again, just my opinion.

I've had many ankle injuries when playing basketball. Since I bought the HyperDunks when they were released during the men's basketball Olympics I have not had any problems since. Stable shoes, with great support on the ankles if thats what your looking for. I've been doing some research into the low-top hyperdunks and people have said its a great shoe as well with great ankle support even though there low-tops. There just designed differently then normal low-tops because of the ankle support still being there.

The Detroit Pistons have the Nike Hyperize shoes banned due to ankle and foot injuries. I've played in the shoes before and they are pretty thin and rough on the ankle.

The Nike Hyperize are terrible shoes because they offer no support and the cushioning wears out very quickly. If you are looking for good pair of basketball shoes try out the Nike Zoom BB 1 or the Kobe V.

I think this might be Amar'e shoe, or similar.

Either way, I just bought some Kobe Vs and waiting for them to come in the mail. Got the custom colors, just did black and white for my rec league team.

Looking back I can't believe how much money my parents spent on my shoes. I think those Penny's were like $130.

Thanks heaps Kerrsed.

I like those A3's, but would only buy them in orange and I can't seem to find them.

Where on earth would one buy the Blue, White and Orange 96's? I have a white pair that I use at the moment, but would love a pair of those.

At the moment I am thinking of getting these two pair from Eastbay.

I wear long socks ;) also am pretty good with my ankles after years of rolling them all the time. Whenever I feel like one is going I tend to end up on the floor.

I still wear Fila's and their clothing. We have a Fila shop here in Adelaide and also over in the Eastern states. But most of their clothing these days is made for Tennis and Soccer.

OMFG!!!!!!
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o

While searching for the Blue/Orange/White Fila Ninety6's I came across this!!!!

Since the release of the Fila Ninety6, formerly the signature sneaker of Grant Hill, a few different color variations have been released but until now none of them resembled the team Hill plays for today. Seen here is a gray, yellow and purple color scheme of the Ninety6 which looks like something you would see on the feet of the Phoenix Suns players. Is this a sign that Fila wants Grant Hill back, or Fila just making bank off his old signature sneakers? Either way who cares, this is a pretty nice looking colorway of the Ninety6 if you ask me. No info on a release date at this time.

Yesterday we took a look at a Fila Ninety6 Phoenix Suns Colorway and now thanks to SoleBlvd we have some detailed pictures of the sneakers to show you. As we originally reported the sneakers are designed using a grey, white and purple colorway which seems to resemble the Phoenix Suns color scheme, which is the team Grant Hill plays for today. From what we hear the sneakers are scheduled to be released soon at select retailers including a release on Fila.com. Retail price will be $90.

http://www.sneakerobsession.com/6156/fila-ninety6-phoenix-suns-colorway-detailed-pictures/

I also used to have a pair of these ones too.
