There is actually talk in the past year of Darren Sharper by various media sources being a potential Hall of Fame safety. I personally never viewed him as that, but if he were to actually make it I would think he'd have to go in a Packer judging from years played, stats, etc. And I think if he goes in a Packer, he'd go on the Ring of Honor. How crazy would that be? I guess I just never viewed him in the likes of Packer greats, just a solid player that made big plays from time to time.

You don't go in as a member of a team in the Pro Football HOF.
I guess anything is possible, but I don't see it. I think of a guy like Steve Atwater. Three more pro bowl seasons and made All-Pro twice (Sharper once) and he hasn't really sniffed the Hall.

There is no way he deserves to get in before LeRoy Butler who still isn't in.

Yep
Personally, when it comes to putting athletes in the HOF regardless of the sport, i prefer rewarding guys who were elite and special even if their career's or time being elite weren't that long over putting in guys who were good over a long stretch.
A perfect example for me is a guy like Fred McGriff in baseball. A really good player for a long time, but never was really special.
Letting in to many really good but never special players just waters down these HOF's IMO.

I don't see him as a Hall of Famer. To me, he was never a liability, but he was almost never the reason we were winning either. He was a nice piece, that is all...

Good catch, I guess I never realized that.

If I recall, there was some discussion about this going on with Favre. I think it is funny to listen to people speculate on what team Favre will go in with and then tell them you don't go in with a team
