didnt he sprain both ankles in portland? he's a baller no doubt but im god daam mother **** punk bitch **** **** piece of **** tired of having injury proners as our best players. we have martin, we have yao, that's more than enough.

of corse if he signs for the minimum i wouldnt mind that at all, but not anything higher , i'd rather get a big from the draft

^^^^ You know, I feel your frustrations exactly. While I love Yao, and I am a huge fan of the trade, I am certainly tired of injured players being the key stones of this franchise. I have Marcus on my fantasy squad, and he's not doing as well in Portland as he was in LAC, but he's still doing very well. We know he's a beast on the boards, he's tall, and less of an offensive liability than Chucky. As a matter of fact, he is who Chuck Hayes would be if he were 5 inches taller. So I definitely wouldn't mind him signing for the vet's min. It would be great against the Laker's front line if we could add his height.

Would be a great pickup.

I like trading for Gortat a little better but I'd also like having that first rd. pick for Damion James.

Camby for LLE will be the new Mutombo! At LLE, he will much more valuable than Gortat since Rockets will be paying luxury taxes if Morey resigned Scola and Lowry given the expected lower Luxury Tax threshold

I read over on Clutch that he just sold his house in New York and that he and his wife are living in Pearland full-time now.

(oh, and that he has a personal 10-acre man-made lake stocked with fish so that he can go fishing as much as he wants).

He's going to be a Rocket next year. A lot of fans of other teams will be talking about how they can offer him more money; but I don't think that is a concern for him at this point.

Despite all the injuries, Camby is one cerebral player, and he still has a year or two left in his tank.
Hopefully, Morey has interest in him as well.

Sweet,

I Hope Morey gets him.

Perfect backup.

If Camby is willing to come to Houston to be the best back up center in basketball and the Rockets have a legitimate shot at contending then sign him. Otherwise, keep giving minutes to the younger guys.

it's an ideal situation.

He and Yao can help keep each other's minutes reduced over the season, and then once in a while they can be used on the floor together.

I like the idea of it.

Who knows? Maybe Camby comes over to play super-sub for Yao and Scola, Yao goes down after 16 games, Camby plays center the rest of the way and gets his championship ring...

I think Camby will play the same role as Mutumbo....but he won't be a leader like Mutumbo

I'd only get him if it meant he's accepting the veteran's minutes and just spot minutes. He can play alongside Yao, he has a nice midrange shot unlike Chuck.

I'd put him or Hayes in the rotation depending upon matchups and continue to play Hill.

Yes, "if anyone can, the Camby-man can" lol. But I don't think he'd be worth the long-term investment given his fragility. Eventually, his age and injuries will catch up to his skill-set. But if he can be had on the cheap, he's definitely worth the price.

He's still a great paint defender, and will definitely be coming at a severely reduced price (especially if he wants to play in Houston exclusively).

Perhaps we can trade Yao's expiring next season for something big and use Camby as a starter.
