Johan Petro the only big they need.
It's seems to me that Petro, is all the center they really need to survive. He has been averging like 7.2 points and 8.7 rebounds in the past four or five game martin has been out, so mayube they should start using him more often in heir regular rotation, even when K-mart comes back.

He might help us survive the season, but he will not help us much against LA.

Technically that may be all we need. If he's got extra saved up, so be it.

Why can't he help us against LA? He's a big body that does a pretty good job at guarding other big guys(see: Howard, Dwight). Obviously if he is in place of Kenyon, it wont help us....but him along with Kenyon would be pretty good. Better then Bird, at least.

There's like six bigs in the league that fit that description. Nene is close though.
I think Petro can help against LA, even if its just a few minutes in case one of the other bigs gets in foul trouble.

Re: Johan Petro the only big they need.
Petro can:
- Help us box out Gasol and Bynum and get rebounds, and do it probably better than Nene and KMart... Our one big that does that job (box out and rebound) the best now is Birdman... Bird has been making conscious effort all season to box out and rebound... but Petro has stronger upper body and he may prove to be more effective doing that against Bynum
- Be a presence in the paint, and block some shots... Lamar has proven to be effective against Nene, KMart, and Bird... maybe Petro can change that. Their quicker guards like Farmar at times also sneaks in for 1-2 layups, and Brown always looks to go inside and finish strong, maybe those can be erased/ changed.
What I'm not sure of is if he can defend Bynum down low... I think Nene stands a better chance because he's stronger than Petro but Petro is taller, so it remains to be seen
We don't need Petro to knock down 15-20 footers, silly Laker fan
but Petro has shown he can take those shots and knock them down, but we don't need offense from him... so I won't worry. If I were coach, I'd tell Petro his role and only job on the team is as simple as getting french fries in McD, that is to box out and rebound. And be on the lookout to receive some passes from teammates for easy bunnies... and anything else he does is extra. Just box out and rebound and everyone is all smiles... keep it simple. It's not hard, Frenchie.

Well if Frenchi gets 10 rebounds per game, 8 pts will follow fairly easily (unless he just completely blows jump hooks and point blank dunks). His job is definitely simple.

He helps me in 2k10 when I'm up by 20+ points and want to embarass my opponent by doing spin moves/crossovers/dunks with a player he's probably never heard of
