Looks like Reke is out again. Disappointing that we're staying even with the Nets. We should be dominating, even with our best player out.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I was actually a little worried about this. They probably entered the game confident that this could be one of their wins without Tyreke.

F U Sacramento. Another Nets win away from the NBA record.

F U again.
Everyone underrated Kobe's ego and just thought he would be Paul Pierce when Garnett and Allen joined, instead he went Black Mamba and turned Dwight into Kwame and Nash into Smush.

Just so we're clear: I've never seen that dude on the Nets board, and I don't know if he's a Kings fan, but I don't want you to think Nets fans are pouring into this thread like that.

YES !

I was really worried about this game. Looking at our schedule this was one of those "we could easily take that game" games. But the Kings were able to overcome it and lose. And we get wins from Indy AND Philly today? Great night so far.

Tanking may be wrong but if the Kings end up with the 10th pick this year we're screwed longterm. top 5-6 pick? Things look much better.

Simple: because I have the longterm aspirations of the team at heart. The difference between 24 wins and 28 wins isn't going to be a big deal in the mind of our players nor is it going to make this team more successfully in the minds of, well, anyone. But in terms of draft position, the difference could be (and probably will be) gigantic.

Until the NBA gives teams a REASON to start winning at the end of the season (as opposed to rewarding losing) I'm going to root for the team to play their asses off, to look great on the floor, but to lose.

But we played terrible, looked tired and still lost. So you couldn't be excited by this game....

So you hate winning and like losing. Got it.

Losing just breeds more losing, and I'm sick of losing.

I only wanted three wins out of our final 11 games.

Tonight.
Lakers.
Houston.

So...I guess I'll just settle with two now.

Well. I had nothing to do with this loss. I guess I'm not cursed after all. Also, someone tell KIE that I got his Pink Floyd reference, and then tell him that he has to "tear down the wall" between us.

I may be rooting for them to play hard (well, more on that in a minute) but I'm still excited to see them drop one at this point.

But back to the playing hard; I'm less inclined to want them to put it all on the line when Evans isn't around. My feeling is that playing hard should help them grow as a team. I'm not too concerned about them "growing as a team" when their star player isn't around. That is to say: nights like these are wasted games (without Evans). So I could really care less about how hard they play--just so long as they lose.

While I agree, at this point in the season it's hard to make that argument when you're talking about, say, 26 wins (if they finish poorly) vs. 30 wins if they finish well. Losing may breed more losing but winning 4 meaningless games at the end of the season isn't going to breed more winning either. In fact, my argument is that the winning actually breeds more losing (due to draft position).

At this point, yes, it's rather an embarassment. However, if that one loss ends up making the difference between picks, then at this point I am OK with it. I don't like the fact that they were non-competetive. That is unacceptable. But the loss in and of itself IS acceptable. Right now we are on the verge of taking that jump like NO a few years back or OKC this year. We just need to have that definate second guy to pair with Tyreke. If the slight increase in odds by being one spot higher turns out to make the difference between gettign another pretty good role player and getting any of Wall/Favors/Cousins/Turner, then LOSE!

Exactly! Thats my thinking.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

I'll take them completely tanking on the road as long as they compete in their home games.

Return to Sacramento Kings
