We had that ability last summer and did squat.

If nothing happens, I hope Brooklyn buys out Garnett and he comes to Chicago as a 4th/5th big. It's not ideal but it's something and Thibodeau will actually play him. Can't think of a worthwhile wing

how would he be the 4th big?

Because Thibodeau probably won't play Mirotic when it matters.

It's a damn shame this is true.

yes it would be a waste of the last roster spot. I want the bulls to make a splash with that last spot. But, I know that this may not happen. :-?

His free throw shooting plummeted from 69% his first six years in the league to 39% his last two years.

He was never a good shooter - his game was based on dives, backcuts on the baseline, and other ways to get shots going to the basket. He had a decent free throw rate, getting to the line 3.6/36min in his first six years. Last two years he gets there 1.5/36min because he's scared of shooting them. As a result of being scared to shoot FTs, he doesn't drive (he used to take around half his shots at the rim, now he takes 1/4) and since he can't shoot , he's worthless on offense.

If Brewer can ever figure it out mentally, he's still a young guy and a smart defender, he'll be useful somewhere. It's sad to see a good guy lose his prime years in the NBA because of mental problems.

He should get a shooting coach. its worked before

Brewer's shooting is not a mental problem or coaching, he has limited range of motion in his shooting arm from an accident. He's never going to be a great shooter.
A childhood water slide accident left him with a small bone protruding from his triceps area which has created an abnormal shooting form
