Just go get Hinkie.

Would be a much better move than the Butler trade.

Watch the Bulls instead start trying to actually put positive pieces in now.... :banghead:

Bulls have worst coach, worst front office and bottom 3 roster. And people thought winning 40 games and watching a fun playoff series was "NBA Hell"...

That's a pretty interesting team. We suddenly become really athletic, long and have plenty of shooters. Extremely young though, and likely to miss out on the playoffs, but I don't think we'd be a bottom 5 team though for fans of anyone from next seasons draft class.

Yup....folks havent got the memo yet. This team WILL NOT TANK.

Nor any other version of the Bulls. Reinsdorf (SR.) has to sign off on that. Its not going to happen. Not intentionally at least.

At the time, Butler was the 2nd best player on a 40 something win team and had a great on/off court rating that he maintained every year of his career. He had not developed offensively but was a top 5-10 defensive player in the NBA.

What did Butler do his rookie season after 4 years of college?

He didn't play. As soon as he was put on the court, he made a positive impact.

There aren't many cases of good players who at one point looked like crap on the court.

Proves two things we already knew. The front office and managment are stupid AND cheap. They were going to trade Butler no matter what because there was no way they would pay ANY player $200 million. So they trade him for a guy who just blew out his ACL, another guy who was very dissapointing as a rookie, and draft a guy who will likely amount to not much. And they give up their first round pick as well. Reinsdorf cares nothing about the fans, nothing. This Bulls team could end up winning less than 30 games. And anyone who says we will be in great position to bring in free agents next year needs psychiatric help. No one of quality will sign here, no one.

Any more brain busters?

And if Jimmy actually had any offense game then the Bulls might not have got bounced 4-1 to Miami.

Jimmy led the team in scoring in that series and had a TS% of 58%.

This is like debating with 8 year olds.

Fine. Over/under 60 wins for the Bulls over the next 2 years. Can we speculate that far?

Trying to build a team that wasn't bad, would be utterly incomprehensible right now.

This trade hasn't set up virtually anything. The best thing it could possibly set up is helping us be the worst next year. Maybe even for 2 or 3 years. If that wasn't the plan, then it was a huge blunder.

If we are terribad, then thats an unintentional consequence. It wont be an actively sought out result.

It's a real bad team, the term tank team is subjective, but most likely its gonna be worst case if they don't clear out more talent, as in really bad but not bottom 3. Utter disaster outcome.

Going after someone like Beverly now would be so counter productive.

How is anything we got in this deal a good bet to become the #1 that CAN lead you to a title or to become a top 5 player in the league that Jimmy supposedly wasn't. :-?

Who cares? We will be in the lottery for the foreseeable future so plenty chances to get that #1. We had ZERO chance of doing that with Butler.

I'd love for Hinkie to come in and oversee the tank.

The worst part is that we are going to have watch these three guys get entitlement minutes every night, and every night we are going to be reminded of what a giant clusters--k this trade was. Unbearable.

One thing that hurts about this trade....

We could have just drafted LaVine instead of McDermott.

LOL at comparing Dunn's age 23 season to Butler's age 23 season in which he did a very respectable job against LeBron, who he obviously fell short to but made things difficult for.

This will be the easiest League Pass cancellation call, lol.

And please tell me the last time this front office won a trade. Other executives around the league must laugh at this brain trust. We had one true trade chip. They needed a huge haul. They mske their "big move" and now we have a roster full of bench players, a college coach, and nothing of value to offer in trades (maybe that's a good thing, GarDorfPax have no clue how to make trades).

I'm glad you are finding some happiness tonight with your superior memory of Butler's career. I'm happy with the overall direction the organization is taking and you are not so YOU lose overall as a Bulls fan.. Have a good night!
