Lauri trade can not be made or even agreed to before the draft :banghead:

Hence the wink wink nudge nudge

Even if AKME were stupid enough to make this sort of attempt at blatantly circumventing the CBA, nobody is giving us a 1st for Lauri.

The entire planet knew that Lauri was available for a 1st at the trade deadline, and not one team was interested. I see absolutely no reason why that will change now.

Does anyone here still believe in Markkanen? Or has everyone basically moved on already? I think in the right situation he can still be a productive player (even though he doesn't fit here at the moment).

I believe that there are quite a few teams that want him as a buy low candidate. He's 7-0 and he can shoot. We've seen him score 19 a game. If you get him in the right situation he can help a team.

I could be way off, but I don't think most people on this board have a problem with Lauri's skills or his game - it's the price tag.

Lauri could be valuable to the Bulls bench, because against other bench players he can give you spot minutes at SF and C. But not if it costs more than Full MLE-ish money.

I think Lauri, last season moved from a 4th to a 3rd quartile starting PF - mainly on going from below-average to near-average on defense. I think his contract situation was a problem for, not just the Bulls, but other teams as well. If we operating over the cap and Lauri signs an offer sheet of $14M/year or less, I think I'd match.

I do. In another ~3-4 years that is.

He's going to be a really good pro. Unfortunately, we can't wait forever, nor pay the money to wait, and he's the kind of player that probably needs that kick in the pants of "failing" with his first team (or so) getting humbled, moving on, and taking awhile before having it click.

I don't think he will ever be a "really good pro". I sorta see his career along the lines of a Markief Morris - teams will take a chance on him and he'll ultimately be that marginal starter/rotation bench guy, but he sorta will be what he is now.

I think Lauri ends up having a Gallanari type of career .

Honestly, I have no idea what will happen with Lauri.

The problem with Markkanen is that he's currently best suited as a 3rd-4th option, but he plays PF/C. Unless they're one of the highest usage players, most teams want their bigs to rebound and play defense -- which Lauri doesn't excel at and role-players can do for less money.

So the question is, can Lauri become a 1st or 2nd option? I guess that's still up for debate, but probably won't happen with the Bulls.

Seems like Thad is a better trade option then Lauri. Maybe mostly due to contract.

On one of the Draft podcasts, it might have been Chad Ford's Locked On NBA Draft podcast, they said Isaiah Todd was impressing scouts in the interview portion of the Combine. I was hoping he would drop to us in the 2nd Round but he has too much potential to last into the 2nd Round. I think he'll go late in the First. I think he has great potential as a 3-4 Forward, at least until he fills out his frame. He measured 6-10" in shoes, weighed 219, has a 9 foot wingspan. He'll eventually fill out at @ 240-245 as NBA weight training works its magic. One of the late playoff teams will get a nice diamond in the rough picking Todd in the late 1st Round.

I think there is a chance he can be good but it’s not going to happen in Chicago. There is potential there. He needs a change of scenery.

Damn it, I really want Sharif Cooper, and there's absolutely no way we're getting him.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

So hard to tell how good the competition is for some of these international teams, but I liked what I saw from his highlight reel.

He's a prospect I've circled for about a month. Feels like an AK pick. Intriguing talent, though needs to put on weight(170 lbs).
