Lauri trade can not be made or even agreed to before the draft

Except that's a blatant violation of the CBA's tampering rules, since Team A isn't allowed to talk to Lauri until 3 days after the draft.
Hence the wink wink nudge nudge
Even if AKME were stupid enough to make this sort of attempt at blatantly circumventing the CBA, nobody is giving us a 1st for Lauri.
The entire planet knew that Lauri was available for a 1st at the trade deadline, and not one team was interested. I see absolutely no reason why that will change now.

Does anyone here still believe in Markkanen? Or has everyone basically moved on already? I think in the right situation he can still be a productive player (even though he doesn't fit here at the moment).

I could be way off, but I don't think most people on this board have a problem with Lauri's skills or his game - it's the price tag.
Lauri could be valuable to the Bulls bench, because against other bench players he can give you spot minutes at SF and C. But not if it costs more than Full MLE-ish money.

I do. In another ~3-4 years that is.
He's going to be a really good pro. Unfortunately, we can't wait forever, nor pay the money to wait, and he's the kind of player that probably needs that kick in the pants of "failing" with his first team (or so) getting humbled, moving on, and taking awhile before having it click.

I don't think he will ever be a "really good pro". I sorta see his career along the lines of a Markief Morris - teams will take a chance on him and he'll ultimately be that marginal starter/rotation bench guy, but he sorta will be what he is now.

So hard to tell how good the competition is for some of these international teams, but I liked what I saw from his highlight reel.
