No, we don't, unless you mean a puncher's chance. Rose is coming off of a torn ACL & he is still our only consistent scorer.

Seems weird that Reggie Rose is calling out the rest of the team when his brother

- Shot 40% against the Heat
- Got injured the next year

The same would happen to any player that's forced to be the only feared offensive player on his team. I remember the Heat having 3 offensive threats (Lebron, wade, Bosh).

Derrick's great, let's not get this confused. But Derrick Rose hasn't "languished" on bad teams in his NBA career. The last two years, the Bulls were the #1 seed in the East and then due to team-wide ineffectiveness AND injury, Rose didn't produce.

He hasn't had horrible teams, but this is a new NBA. He can not be the only offensive threat on the court for the bulls because it will lead to him breaking down to the point that he's unable to perform up to his capabilities and/or he will be injured.

Derrick Rose isn't above being criticized. Until Rose goes out and has a LeBron like series where he averages 30-9-4 and they still lose, I'm not going to say Rose doesn't have enough.

You're right. He's not above it, but I will damn sure give him a pass knowing that last season was only his 4th in the league. Lebron just got it together last post-season when he won his first title.

All in all. The rubber is now meeting the road with Reggie speaking out today.

Sh*t just got real.

I don't need you to feel energized and satisfied.

I need the team to know they have each other's backs, and that Derrick will be on the same page as his teammates. So if he has a spokesman of sorts, that spokesman should be team first. If Reggie is not his spokesman, but just an outspoken dumbass, then hopefully that is clarified for us (if Derrick ever comments on his brother's comments).

It shouldn't happen before a game against Miami. That's ridiculous. Wait for the Bobcats game if your idiocy cant wait.

Derrick Roses spokesman shouldn't be team first. He should be D. Rose first, which is exactly what he is. He's doing what's best for his client.

BIGGIEsmalls I agree with you when you mention the Bulls should consider Deng a trade asset next year

But I don't agree with phrasing like "get rid of"

Lets also notice that expiring contracts aint what they used to be. Trading Redick was like pulling teeth. And there was a market. But no one wanted to outbid anyone. Lamb and Udrih?

This year without Rose, this team is battling for the 3rd seed in the East & they have one of the best road records in the league...I think Derrick can do much worse as far as supporting cast is concerned, they're doing alright w/o the fella...

You give them these titles as if they mean something, but they don't translate to better play on the court.

Deng has a busted wrist and can't create his own shot and is sporting a paltry 50 TS%.

Boozer is old and not the all-star Boozer from 5 years ago. He can't jump, he can't defend, his mid-range jumper isn't even good anymore, he gets stupid offensive fouls, and he's not a post threat. Terribly inefficient scorer.

Joakim is never going to be an offensive anchor. I love him, but his role is not to score. Obviously. He's a garbage man who rebounds and plays great defense, is a great passer, and can contribute points in spots. He's not somebody you can rely on to produce offense consistently.

Rip is trash and I can't believe you're even suggesting that he's a positive aspect of our supporting cast.

You say they're doing alright with no eye on the real goal, the goal of getting passed Miami in the playoffs. We have no chance in hell of advancing past them with our current roster and a 100% healthy Derrick Rose. None.

Many on this board (like myself) have said time after time to go after players like monta ellis, oj mayo, steve nash, carmelo anthony, etc.... I know sometimes trades can't be completed, but our office simply is afraid to make a move for an impact scorer.

I couldn't agree more with Reggie. We continue to ignore the fact that we need a Scoring guard irrespective of if he is a great defender or complete player. We are redundant with too many system players that can't create their own shot.

But to say we haven't suggested alternatives is wrong. You just shoot them down every time because you defend the bulls management all the time.... The same bulls management that would be fired if they hadn't 1.7% lucked into rose.

Talk is cheap. Who are you trading for these guys? Why would anyone have wanted Steve Nash on this team? I mean WTF? Monta Ellis is a terrible basketball player who is a poorer version of Derrick Rose. OJ Mayo has come back down to earth after his hot start - not seeing why people are still dry-humping him.

Honestly, I'd rather the criticism come straight from Derrick's mouth in Jerry Reindorf's ears than from Reggie's mouth to everyone in the world. There is no protection here were Derrick can honestly say 'oh, that was my brother talking' - like it's some Bill and Roger Clinton issue or two brothers that don't really see each other all that much. These guys are locked at the hip. So, this is effectively Derrick saying that our team isn't good enough and the FO needs to improve it if they expect him to play on this team.

Again, I don't disagree. I think this team still has holes. I think this team is paying too much for Deng and Boozer. But there's a right way and a wrong way to get the organization to change, and unless Derrick has exhausted all methods - unless he's already talked to Gar, Pax and even JR, then I think they've gone about it the wrong way. It's usual NBA superstar B.S. and I don't like it. As someone else stated already, part of Derrick's uniqueness was his humble character. Apparently lots of $$$$ has changed that a bit.

“He always told me he didn’t want to be on one of those stacked teams,” Rose’s brother Reggie told the magazine. “He wanted to be with an underdog.”

I'm sorry Biggie - but thats (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Did you really just blame his ACL injury on him being the only scorer on the Bulls?

I don't mind Reggie expressing his opinion, but I would have a huge problem with it if it's true that Derrick might sit out the season just for this reason. He is getting paid $94 million to play for the Bulls. If he's ready to play, he should play.

Besides, the Bulls have put together a very solid supporting cast for Rose - a great defensive team, a starting lineup consisting entirely of current or former all-stars, a solid bench with hard-working players that know their role, and a top coach in Thibs. I don't know how a superstar can complain about a team that goes 31-22 without him. How many times in the past has the Bulls' bench and defense carried the team when Rose has a bad shooting night? He really should appreciate the team he has around him, and I believe Derrick does.

Look at what Kyrie Irving has in Cleveland. Maybe he should threaten not to play until they are a championship contender. Heck, everyone not on the top 5-6 teams should just stop playing, because they can't win a title. I hated Reggie's quote about either trying to win a championship or just being greedy to make money. What about making a run to the ECF for valuable experience for next year? What about bringing back excitement for the fans? What about doing your contractually obligated job?

He averaged 27pts and 8ast in 2010-11 postseason. How much more do you want him to pass before you realize he's passing to offensive players who aren't that good?

I understand that some stuff you just say to the media and all that, but there's no way I believe that Derrick approves of this until he says it out of his own mouth. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Derrick apologizes to his teammates for his brother's idiocy.

What a distraction too, this coming out when we play the Heat tonight.

I believe just the opposite. Reggie is probably pretty influential with Derrick, and his lack of confidence in GarPax's ability to get Rose help is probably why DRose is holding out on coming back as long as possible. IF his older brother is telling him not to risk further injury on a team that has no chance, and to use his rehab to put more pressure on the FO that could explain DRose's uber cautious approach. This injury just gave DRose a lot of leverage. He can withhold his talents from the team and put pressure on the organization without taking a big PR hit, because he has the cover of saying he is just being conservative and making sure he is 100%. Meanwhile his brother ups the pressure with these comments, and DRose gets to sit back and disavow. Its actually pretty smart. I have no doubt Reggie is expressing a sentiment shared by Derrick here.
