No, we don't, unless you mean a puncher's chance. Rose is coming off of a torn ACL & he is still our only consistent scorer.
Seems weird that Reggie Rose is calling out the rest of the team when his brother
- Shot 40% against the Heat
- Got injured the next year
The same would happen to any player that's forced to be the only feared offensive player on his team. I remember the Heat having 3 offensive threats (Lebron, wade, Bosh).
Derrick's great, let's not get this confused. But Derrick Rose hasn't "languished" on bad teams in his NBA career. The last two years, the Bulls were the #1 seed in the East and then due to team-wide ineffectiveness AND injury, Rose didn't produce.
He hasn't had horrible teams, but this is a new NBA. He can not be the only offensive threat on the court for the bulls because it will lead to him breaking down to the point that he's unable to perform up to his capabilities and/or he will be injured.
Derrick Rose isn't above being criticized. Until Rose goes out and has a LeBron like series where he averages 30-9-4 and they still lose, I'm not going to say Rose doesn't have enough.
You're right. He's not above it, but I will damn sure give him a pass knowing that last season was only his 4th in the league. Lebron just got it together last post-season when he won his first title.
All in all. The rubber is now meeting the road with Reggie speaking out today.
Sh*t just got real.
