I'm not even here to complain because I'm numb to what the Bulls do and its been that way since GarPax. They just don't make deadline moves.

But AK came to Chicago talking about Morey and how he attempts to try to get things done by being active and moving parts. I thought we would get a similar mindframe since he lightly inferred that he would be one of those types of basketball minds.

It's a nightmare being a fan of this organization. This is why i'm the least invested i've been in my entire life as a Bulls fan.

Try not not to let it get to you. It's there business and you can't control it.

teams dealing seem to be willing to accept lower tier players that require them to give up less. Part of that is maybe even Most teams either traded their 2024 pic or their 2025 so they can't move a pick and the team that stockpiled picks aren't looking for what the Bulls have to offer.

from the names being dealt, it doesn't appear that contenders are willing to part with an equal return, if they have the assets in hand, to get a player like DeRozan, Caruso or even Drummond who could give them a minimum of 24 minutes this playoff season. This is compounded by playoff teams figuring that they're going to be contenders next year as well but both Drummond and DeRozan are expiring so they're only getting them for less than 40 games, and they don't want to give up picks for that short term of a guy.

Again more and more It seems to me AKME had a run it back plan during the summer of 2022 and the approach by much of the league changed with the new CBA rules and that crashed the plan the Bulls were working with.

Thread is too damn literal. Literally all we have is RUMORS. No deals. FML.

Speaking of, what's up with Joe Harris? He's only 32, and he played 74 games last year for Brooklyn shooting 43% from deep. This year he's only played 16 games and his minutes have dropped substantially.

Is it a Detroit thing with having too many guards? Has he just been injured? I don't think he just suddenly forgot how to shoot. He's a 43% career volume 3P shooter.

We joke, but he'd be a huge upgrade on this roster over Jevon Carter or Dalen Terry.

I just feel robbed, everyone else gets to have fun during these player acquisition periods and the Bulls just sit around and watch. It sometimes doesn’t even feel like the Bulls are participating in the same league.

I’d prefer us to stand pat and play the buyout market. If we can make some noise come the playoffs then we’d still be a desirable free agency option if DeRozan and Drummond decide to leave.

This wholeheartedly. They beat the team with the second best record in the league last night. They won despite missing roughly $65 million dollars worth of players. They're playing with a ton of heart, led by White, Caruso, and Derozan. Two of those three are the guys everybody wants to trade, and get back little in terms of current player value. If all the Bulls suck so bad, how do they keep winning? It's HARD to win in the NBA. If we had a Giannis or Embid, I might see the point, but you're not getting that caliber of guy trading Caruso or Debo. Drummond's playing well, and is cheap, let's trade him too for second round picks. News flash, we're already late in a rebuild, centered around Coby White and Pat Williams as our high draft picks, with Lavine as the young present star (he was young when we started it). Added Ball as a young player. They added a couple of vets (Debo and Vuc) to a really young team. If Debo and Drummond leave, what's the average age of our players, 25? How and why do you "blow" up a young team?

The Bulls are not a young team. They are a veteran team. They are the 10th oldest team in the NBA. 20 teams are younger.

My goodness.

I literally said if Debo (34) and Drummond (30) leave. Two of the other older players, Craig and Carter, were minor free agency adds, one is 33. Meanwhile, we have Ball, White, Ayo, Phillips, Sanogo, Bitum, Williams, Drell, Terry. There are 3 players on this team older than 30. So if Debo and Drummond leave, we'll be a very young team. And EVERYBODY"S arguing to get rid of Vucevic, the other oldest player, lol. He'd be the only player left older than 30 besides Craig.

NBA players hit their prime around 26-27, we'll be younger than that. Looking at an article that puts Bulls average age at 25.7. 24.7 would make them the youngest team. The difference between them and the youngest team is less than 1 year. there are 5 teams above them that are 2-3 months younger.

I don’t have to agree with a direction but I have to at least understand the logic. If we want to make the playoffs, why aren’t we at least trying to improve the team?

With Pat out and Craig gimpy, at least bring in a PF.

Ayo and Pat? Replace Caruso. Stop it.

Stop pretending to respond without seriously engaging the discussion. There's no point to your guys' dissembling responses.

No, I have (and everyone else, I think) would acknowledge that Caruso is better. But Ayo and Pat are good defenders and young developing players.

Getting better doesn't happen through risk-free magical thinking. The only way for the Bulls to improve is to get younger and get more assets. Buy low and sell high. The presence of these younger guys makes it relatively possible to sell high on Caruso. That's the kind of move the Bulls need to make.

The emotional thought process that you guys take leads to the opposite. Instead of selling high, you wait too long and hold on to these guys too long, and then you end up selling low and continuing the long descent through mediocrity that the Bulls are on.

You guys pretend to not be cool with that, but you're too scared to do anything about it. Good way to understand AKME.
I never said don't trade him. I said your reasoning was dumb. Because it was.

The teams that did are actually going for it. Namely the Knicks. This is the first time that I can remember in years that they arent messing around. They took all their young players and picks, cashed them out and have OG and Bogey to show for it. They have a legit squad that will compete with Boston as tops in the East.

Got it. I misread.

They still wouldn't be super young without those guys given Vooch and Zach, but they'd obviously be younger.

Funny thing, someone posted on Twitter about AK's 3pm conference yesterday. That's when I knew we weren't doing anything of note.
