i think it's a fair criticism of reese to say there have been moments where it feels like she's straining to get her numbers, and moments where it feels like she's loafing because she knows it doesn't show up in the box score. but those moments aren't particularly commonplace, and she's got such a high motor most of the time that it's hard to be too harsh on her for occasionally letting up or making a selfish play. and then when people act like there's a team-wide conspiracy to try to make angel look good...it's detached from reality, yeah
i think people are struggling to understand the context that reese is playing in — namely, that there are next to no offensive creators on the sky, and for all those possessions you see her clumsily drive to the hoop to force a bricked layup, there are just as many plays when she's not involved or on the bench and the ball just stagnates. if the team is leaning too heavily on reese for any reason, it's because they can't rely on anyone else other than chennedy to put pressure on a defense. i think kamilla has a ton of potential, but she's still really passive and doesn't look totally comfortable operating with the ball in her hands (plus barely anyone on the team is capable of making an entry pass). basically everyone else just flat-out stinks.
the team is running out the clock until they can restore the roster with capable players, so you won't really be able to judge how angel actually plays as a member of a functioning team until next year at the earliest
