I know it doesnt mean much. It's just highlights and it's just workouts 1vs1. Even though Flagg is 2 years and 2 months younger than Matas he is much more grown to his body and it's really mind blowing how this plays out. Flagg just loves to play through contact. In fact he initate it on every occasion. Guy already knows how to lower his shoulder and knows he gonna win that duel. His skillset is just well developed alongside of his body. Basically looks very comfortable doing it. When you think about it you would think that Flagg is older one than Matas.
Matas on other hand looks like guy who recently had growth spurt and is trying catch up on his own body. Not just from physicallity stand point, but from skillset too. Like he played one position and now he suddenly learning play different one. On some moments you can notice he looks good and on some moments all kind of awkward. That's not criticsm to him.
You can actually see him during this video trying some Flagg's moves, but just that his body along higher center of gravity with his skillset gets all over the place.
So just from this video I can say if he can build some actual mass and grow into his body. It might help a lot to his game. Because he does try play through contact, he just gets a lot out of balance.
Also didnt want to compare them too much. Flagg is alot better prospect when you think about it. He is now 17, and this video was made year ago when he was 16. It's no wonder he is projected #1 in strong class. He is big, strong, confident, very skilled (seems good playing with both hands) and basically plays with Tyler Hansbrough eyes. If anybody ever played basketball during highschool you would know and notice difference in physicality between sophomores and seniors. But doesnt affect Flagg one bit.
Matas on other hand is truly a project. Tools are there to grow into his body and skillset is work in progress. NBA is gonna be good for him. If there is place to get legal steroids it's NBA, just need contact Giannis.
