So happy to finally get rid of Butler, the dark cloud this team has to deal with for the last few years. We can finally start over and I can love this team again.

If I'm trying to be optimistic: at least we'll finally get to see what Hoiball will look like...? Considering we got rid of Thibs, Rose, and Jimmy for Fred, might as well see what he's got to offer.

Done want, spent years building a team that peaked not much above the team we just blew apart by trading Jimmy.

Despite having a handful of top 10 picks.

Yeah, spending the next 5 years to go in a big circle back to 45 wins sounds fun.

And without a franchise talent that's exactly the best case that is realistic.

You have waaaaayy too many posts on this board to be this irrational.

Bingo, the Bulls wanted this dude off their roster, badly.

I'm happy for Fred, honestly, and I'm hoping he can get these youngn's to buy in and play hard for him. Much better than having the Jimmy Butlers of the world disrupting practice and flat-out refusing to run certain sets from your offense.

I understand why the media pundits and fans feel we were fleeced, but its a bit too early to tell. Wolves got the best player that is forsure and with that we were never going to get a better player then Jimmy back in return.

Wilbon and Jalen are just haters, i bet Jalen thought we did a good job signing wade and rondo last summer and wilbon is always a grumpy puss.

Its obvious the FO is pro Hoiberg, now there will be no excuses, he can pick his players and the 7 footer with the 3 ball is definitely a Hoiberg kind of player. Chicago can be bad next season but we better see glimpses of improvement, Dunn needs to take that spoh leap.

I was always reluctant about a Butler trade because I just simply didn't trust Gar Forman to make a good trade. Here are all my issues with the trade:

1.) We didn't get a top 3 pick.
2.) We INCLUDED a 1st round pick.
3.) The best piece in the trade is a player that's reliant on his athleticism and is overcoming a big injury.

I don't think any fan wanted this trade, but I think this validates a lot of posters who early on complained about GarPax as GMs. We've been with these guys for 13 years and it's all been a colossal waste of time.

The concept of trading Butler was right. I stand by that and will do so. But only getting back the 7th pick, Kris Dunn, whose value has plummetted, and Zach LaVine, who's recovering from an ACL injury, is terrible value for Butler.

Yes, it sets the Bulls on the path of a rebuild, but they received no quality pieces back. LaVine will never be more impactful than Butler.

The fact they included 16 as part of the deal is ridiculous. Thibs killed the Bulls today.

Exactly, maybe I could have stomached it a little if we didn't include #16. Directionless tanking ahoy!

Jimmy was a problem, Thibs was a problem, Derrick was a problem but GarPax are not a problem. We can see the truth here.
Anyways, atleast they picked a lane and stopped being half-pregnant. They never had the balls to go all-in to spend on vets and build a over-the-cap team which requires creativity, lots of trades etc...

What is GarPax infatuation on players they've liked from the beginning but may not even pan out?

Question do you think a Celtics offer of 3 and Crowder would of ben better than this offer you guys got?

3 and crowder for Butler

No #16 involved. Just curious

Why would they pay the super max to an aging non-superstar on team that isn't contending for anything? I'm glad that we haven't locked ourselves into mediocrity with Butler for the next seven years. Hopefully we have a lot of great young talent meshing together by the time the Warriors run is over.

You don't want to piss me off, if you think I am who you are.

I just might trade for Melo to make your offseason a sweet syrupy mess.

Honest question. Do you think GarPax are good at building a basketball team?

It's not that simple. Infact, it's far too complex to let just basketball be the benchmark on which to decide such things.

We don't know what's next. The offseason isn't done yet. One thing I do know....Butler has actively tried to resist / fight 4 important power centers that were drafted/hired by GarPax:

1) Rose
2) Noah
3) Fred
4) Rondo

My bet is that we do all we can to also get rid of Wade.
For love, not money.

My biggest issue with this trade is giving up 16. Honestly, if Lavigne gets back his athleticism, Dunn plays to his potential, and Markannen is decent, the trade isn't bad. I want to believe Dunn was plagued by the Thibs no rookie plays policy. He was a stud in Summer League last year. Trying to look on the bright side, but this hurts right now
