I feel like Simmons wouldn't/shouldn't play for the league minimum. For a guy who made a ton of money he's better off doing other things with his life than stick around and be the butt of jokes in the NBA.

Because Allen was a bit of a spent force by Game 4 and we really could've used him to give Allen more rest. Simmons is kind of the perfect fit off the bench against a 5 out team.

Knicks will find out, game 2 will be a must win.

Only up 1 with 6 minutes to go, Cavs needed to find a way to win game 1 on their home floor.

Game 2, the refs and injuries did not help but up 7 with a minute to go, we gotta win that.

If Knicks somehow drop game 2, they will see how deep of a hole that truly is, heading back to indianpolois.

We were extra susceptible in game 2 not just because of the injuries themselves but because we had to extend minutes too. Thibs, otoh, always plays his core guys a ton of minutes. It's just Brunson usually bails them out and would have if Nesmith missed even one of those 3's.

We need to think long and hard this off-season why our shooting dropped off at the end of the season and in to the playoffs, why these injuries linger and keep getting re-aggravated, and if/how we might help our players compensate for them.

Game 2 of our series was a short handed Cavs team playing well and melting down with 90 seconds left. I think the Knicks are in trouble though because the Pacers played a pretty bad game for 3 1/2 quarters.

Mitchell Robinson almost single handedly crushed their bench. Cam Payne was actually hitting threes. They gifted the Knicks 6 free throws on stupid fouls behind the 3 point line. The Pacers starters hesitated on three pointers and elected to drive way too often. Haliburton played pretty poorly before the final shot. For three and a half quarters, he was passing up open floaters or mid range shots and passing to teammates who weren't really open.

The Pacers are a higher variance shooting team than I'd be comfortable betting on, but this could be over in 5.

I remember asking on this forum around draft time whether we should consider him. He shot 3's amazingly well for Vandy in his Sophmore season and that caught my eye. Vassell was the more obvious choice for his size, but of course we went with Isaac.

There's definitely something to be said for drafting a player who's already demonstrated shooting talent...

Hali was pretty passive in our series too, not sure what that's about. He obviously did it all game 1 but outside of the last minute he was not good in game 2, he disappeared in game 3, game 4 despite thr blowout he didn't play well, and game 5 he finally showed up to close us out.

I told one of my Knick co-workers that game 2 is a must win.

Knicks just fired Thibs, so if Bryant does not get the Suns job, I'd say he is a leader to step right into that role.

I was feeling a tad resentful about the cost of the LeVert trade (Nembhard and Sheppard), but I suspect Magic fans are going to go through some things after the Bane trade.

I think we got unlucky those picks panned out for the Pacers. On the surface, a 26th and 31st overall picks are not typically rotation quality players. To get an elite defensive PG/SG (who happens to rise up during the playoffs) and a volume three and D-ish guy is kinda crazy from those spots.

I still think the LeVert trade was a good-ish idea to this day and pushed us into the timeline we are in so it was more than just LeVert, but in hindsight it looks p bad especially if we picked Nembhard and Sheppard.

The Bane trade on the surface looks much worse. However, Bane does fill a bigger niche within the Magic's offensive system and could help them climb out of the gutter. Franz, Paolo, and Bane seem like a formidable trio, especially since Bane can play off both other guys.

Magic still need a top 30 PG tho

I doubt we would've drafted either guy, tbh. Hindsight is 20/20 for sure in this exercise.

But yes, i was not for the trade, made no sense. It being our first taste of success though, we really wanted to capitalize on it.
