How much though do we really blow the budget? $15 million over for one year? I'd be stunned if Attanasio couldn't afford to cash flow that one.

I'm not optimistic about it, but it's an interesting thought. The division is there for the taking.
Mark A can go way over this year and if they can retain both Gamel and Green, those guys would HAVE to start in 2013 (one already would be). Or hell, if they one of them, fine.
I guess the idea is while you're getting the standard "well we don't have as much off the books as you think with arby raises!" line, we are going to have a lot of flexibility around the corner. Obviously K-Rod is gone. Hart in his last year. Wolf's deal ends. Greinke/Marcum's deals are up. Yovani (sadly) is getting somewhat near the end of his by then.
So I guess it's a thought. I don't think it's going to happen, but maybe Mark A does it.
