WHY would I move Wright for a guy who plays crappier defense, older, has a even spottier history with throws to first base just because he is "arod?"
If we offer him 10/300, hes going to have to play first base for us. There is no exception to this, thats what I would say if I was omar/wilpons. I'm NOT moving reyes to 2nd for again, a guy who is 32, less range, and I could keep going on.
I don't see arod getting 10/300 Its just too much for me imo. I can see teams offering 7-8 years for 28-30 mil but, I just don't think we'll see a commitment of 300 million to Arod. I don't care abotu Boras' projections for the market and how much money teams will make off arod.
I'll take a pass unless Arod agrees to play first base, which makes Delgado expendable for peanuts.
arod is not "crappier" than wright at 3rd.. regardless hed never play 1st base and wed never move reyes to 2nd. if arod came hed be at 3rd or 2nd(which i doubt). aside from the D, picture this lineup..
reyes ~300avg 75+ steals 125+ runs
beltran 275+ avg 20-35hrs 125+runs ~90rbis
wright 300-325 avg 25-40hrs 125+runs ~120rbis
arod 280-310 avg 40-50hrs 125+ runs 130+rbis
alou 300+ avg 15-30hrs 50-100+rbis depending on health
delgado 250-280 or so avg 20-35hrs 50-100+ rbis depending on health

and this is in the NL.. thats a serious lineup for the AL, but the NL cmon its literally unfair. this team would have zerooo excuse not to make the world series. maybe trade/sign a starter and some relief help and the team would be scary.
