#2, so not realistic at all. This isn't going to be an easy draft to move up in.
Yea that's not happening. If it were a late 1st or a 2nd maybe but not a top 5 pick.

Tyson is also a fan favorite and would be a quality back up for Noel. We all also know that he's a perfect fit for Carlisle's system. Having him also allows him and Noel to keep their minutes down to about 20-25 a game. Tyson isn't a FA though is he? I was thinking he would have to come in a trade (for Powell maybe?).
Powell/Curry/Our #1 for Tyson/Phoenix #1?

I don't think Pheonix will trade their pick, especially for that package. I am okay with Powell, Curry, Wes and our pick for Tyson and Bledsoe, though. Not sure it works without a third team involved.

Sometimes I feel like I'm one o the few Mavs fan that is trying to think in long term future because most of the guys here want to see some ridiculous trades...

So who is this drafts Shane Larkin?

In my trade scenario all of the PG's the Mavs are interested in in the draft would be gone. The pick would then be used on Markkanen. Tyson would be brought in which means Powell would be out. Make no mistake the Mavs will need a quality backup Center if they want a chance in the playoffs. In 2011 that guy was Haywood. Also you can underestimate what Tyson brings to the locker room. Teague is also a quality starting PG. I'm not as interested in Bledsoe, especially if it costs us our 1st round pick. I'd rather the team continue to get younger.

Very few teams ahead of us in the draft order actually have a need for a PG, so don't be surprised if Smith and Ntilikina are still available to pick from. I don't really think Ntilikina will translate very well, so if we have the option to trade that pickfor Bledsoe then I would consider that a great draft day deal. I think Markkanen will be a very good player under the right leadership, which under Dirk for a couple years is perfect... I just don't think he will still be available.
At this point, is just hoping we get super lucky in the lottery or trade the pick.

I'm almost under the same mindset. Curious, who would you say are your top 5 in order in this draft?

Boston- Fultz
Phoenix- Jackson
Lakers- Ball
76ers-Fox (I have a hard time believing they want Simmons at PG)
Magic- Tatum

I just can't shake the feeling Monk is going to be an utter bust. I think the 76ers are the perfect spot for him since he is really not a PG, but I see Foye, Barbosa, Bayless, etc. when I see Monk.

When we signed Barnes and Curry, found Yogi, Brussino and DFS and then traded for Noel, we put ourselves several years ahead of the rebuild from scratch process. If we add Bledsoe, draft well this year, and then find a somewhat decent FA, we are easily back in the POs next season with a chance to make some noise.
Starting from scratch right now doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering our current roster and the age of our core pieces.
