In order to trade KP, the trading partner needs something besides a big man. In most cases, they need to get rid of big salaried player that wants out or the franchise needs him out. Hayward is not that guy. They don't want to trade him.
Which teams are in luxury tax hell at the moment and might be looking to dump salaries?

This is EXACTLY the strategy I want is to follow. I’d be looking to target an overpaid (yet talented) player that is on a “bad” contract, alongside gaining assets. Old school Dallas Mavericks where we got Jerry Stackhouse, Nick Van Exel. It’s actually what we did with Tim Hardaway Jr.
Two ideas I’d fully support:
- Kevin Love (can we snag Colin Sexton?)
- Andrew Wiggins (can we snag the 14th pick?)
Use our cap space to take in salary, get another asset, and gain a talented player who you can reclaim their career. Dallas might have to throw in some value in some scenarios (Brunson, Green) but that’s the strategy I prefer. We just need talent and contracts that we can then move later.
