Sounds like they're very interested in trading down just based off the prospects they've visited with so far... also, from what I've read, it seems like the only way Dallas ends up with DSJ is if Markkanen and Ntilikina are off the board at 9.

I wouldn't read too much into that, I'm sure we'll have Ntilikina, Isaac and a bunch of other guys that are projected in the top 10 in town for workouts. Most of those prospects simply weren't at the Combine. I think out of the top 10 it's been only Fox and Fultz, the rest didn't attend.

Per Sefko:
- Donnie and Rick are leading the Mavs' at the Combine for scouting purposes
- prior to the draft Donnie and other 'staffers' will head over to Europe to talk to Ntilikina among others
- it will be one of two trips to Europe they'll make before the draft with the first one being before they start bringing players in for individual workouts (aka pretty soon) and the second one later in June
- according to 'scources' the Mavs are likely to keep the pick instead of moving it for a player that can help now regardless of where they select as there is 'no turning back' from the youth movement 'once it's been started' and the likelyhood of the player they'd be getting in return not being good enough to 'put them over the top'
- as of Thursday afternoon the Mavs had interviews with 16 players at the Combine yet among them players such as Justin Patton, Jonathan Motley, Semi Ojeleye and Dwayne Bacon
- Sefko adds that those players are 'clearly' none they'd target at#9 but views them as targets they have to do their homework on in case they slip into the 2nd round or a team later in the 1st is willing to move its pick
Edit: So the list of players we know they had interviews with now is:
- Justin Patton
- Jonathan Motley
- Semi Ojeleye
- Dwayne Bacon
- Josh Hart
and they've talked to Hamidou Diallo's former coaches via a different report
