Getting blanked isn't the best time to talk about optimism. :( 9 RISP and not even 1 run? That's awful, we didn't even manage a quarter of league average offensive production. That's brutal. Having said that, Millwood does have an ERA under 3 so far this year, so it's not entirely absurd, but still, argh. Too bad about Overbay's streak.

Just a brilliantly pitched game, i believe the rangers were 0-9 as well with RISP. It happens

Well, we could have had injuries, sure, but beyond that, we lost, which is the worst non-injury outcome of any game. I suppose you could get into semantics about being shelled versus not being shelled, Ricky looking bad versus what he actually accomplished, but we've been moaning and complaining about our offense for a while now.

In any case, this isn't a doom-and-gloom post, I'm sure the offense will bounce back, perhaps next game. But it was a really disappointing no-show for the bats, that's all.

It was a magnificently pitched game, Romero and Frasor both looked really good. And yeah, the Rangers were 0-7 with RISP, but that sort of ignores the run they did score, right? I mean, the at-bat where Byrd cashed a runner in isn't included in that, so more properly, they were 1-8 as far as cashing in RISP, even if they didn't get a hit to do it.

Romero looked good. I would have liked a couple more first-pitch strikes and a little higher strike percentage in general, but 6 Ks against 2 BBs, 5 hits across more than 6 IP and only one run allowed against Texas was a really huge performance that we utterly wasted. Ricky matched up almost perfectly with Millwood, who has been very good this year, and Frasor looked awesome, too.

This is good, though, I mean, maybe it'll help get Romero back to where he was before he was sent down.

Losing 1-0 is hardly anything to get that upset about, especially when we already won the series on the road. In addition, the outcome of a close game has a lot to do with luck more than anything else. If we had lost big, I would be a little worried.

1 freaking nothing. This lineup should never lose 1-0, but the guys just choked tonight each time they had guys in scoring position. Let's up we can win the next series too.

Schad, keep it goin'.

Will do. If the write-ups are slim/non-existent, apologies.

Just post up some pics of manatees and I'm good.

I'm not saying we should be worried, I'm just venting that this was a rather poor performance from the bats.

You can't mean that. I get that a game like this is frustrating, but even the best lineups will occasionally get handcuffed. You have to expect to get shut out a few times over 162 games. Millwood is no slouch either eh? He won the AL ERA crown a few years ago.
