Well, we could have had injuries, sure, but beyond that, we lost, which is the worst non-injury outcome of any game. I suppose you could get into semantics about being shelled versus not being shelled, Ricky looking bad versus what he actually accomplished, but we've been moaning and complaining about our offense for a while now.
In any case, this isn't a doom-and-gloom post, I'm sure the offense will bounce back, perhaps next game. But it was a really disappointing no-show for the bats, that's all.

It was a magnificently pitched game, Romero and Frasor both looked really good. And yeah, the Rangers were 0-7 with RISP, but that sort of ignores the run they did score, right? I mean, the at-bat where Byrd cashed a runner in isn't included in that, so more properly, they were 1-8 as far as cashing in RISP, even if they didn't get a hit to do it.
Romero looked good. I would have liked a couple more first-pitch strikes and a little higher strike percentage in general, but 6 Ks against 2 BBs, 5 hits across more than 6 IP and only one run allowed against Texas was a really huge performance that we utterly wasted. Ricky matched up almost perfectly with Millwood, who has been very good this year, and Frasor looked awesome, too.
This is good, though, I mean, maybe it'll help get Romero back to where he was before he was sent down.
