When the Blue Jays trot onto the Rogers Centre field to play the Florida Marlins tonight, some of the teams' wealthiest fans won't be there. Nor are they likely to show up tomorrow or Sunday.
Though they've paid thousands to lease some of the 133 luxury suites ringing the downtown dome, by Friday, Toronto's corporate crowd is often too pooped to root, root, root for the home team after glad-handing clients all week.
That means some of the pricey private playpens – which cost $3,500 to rent for a single game, not including food, drinks and hostess – are vacant.
"Monday to Thursday is the meat of the batting order, so to speak – that's when the corporate community likes to entertain," said Jason Diplock, the Jays' vice-president of ticket sales and service.

Has anyone sat in a box at a Jays game? What's it like?
I have been in a box at the ACC and they are great.
