It could be arguable but definitely didn't warrant the embarrassing "what game have you been watching" reply.

I was suggesting Escobar could have made it to 3rd as well, even with the slight pause to let the ball go through. But you are right in that it's one of those plays where if you're not 100% certain, you hold up with the middle of the order coming up, and none out.

It's frustrating seeing players go for home runs when they weren't needed, striking out 3 times in a row to Francisco pretty much means we didn't try shortening our swings at all. If anything I should criticize all 3 of our hitters. Slightly frustrated and venting but in the end we almost swept another series, on to the next one.

Yeah those home runs swings were ridiculous...especially after two guys got on base by walk, and by a squib opposite field single..I've always said it, the Jays hitters have no idea, no plan on what to do at the plate. If I was Farrell though..I would've had Escobar and Bats running at least once to see if they could get a double steal. Francisco wasn't even paying attention to the baserunners..

Oh well...we get Brett Lawrie back tomorrow...so things will be back to normal in the middle of the order.

Thames sucks, I don't get the love for him. Horrible defensively and not cutting it offensively

They were trying to hit the ball hard with their normal swings, not hit home runs. And that's exactly what they should be doing in that situation with a chance to win the game. It just didn't work this time...it happens.

I was at the game today sitting in left field. Awesome atmosphere for sure. We kept heckling the Mets' left fielder Baxter.. it was hilarious.

I'm a disappointed at the outcome, but it happens.

It's crazy that people are surprised that Edwin Encarnacion and JP Arencibia tried to hit the ball hard. They are home run hitters. That's what home run hitters do. You don't all of a sudden decide to change your entire approach in the bottom of the ninth inning.

You change your approach when you get 2 strikes on you, not the entire at bat. Especially when you're down by 1 run, and you need a hit to just have a chance to extend the game longer, not a home run. I doubt very much that playoff teams go for home runs all the time just because they have 'home run hitters'.

Bautista was at the plate with a shift on him, he shortened up his swing and hit a grounder through the hole at 2nd base, it's not often you see him do that but he did because that's what the team needed.

It hurt not having Lawrie at the plate after Edwin, that could very well have been the game tying hit that we needed and the least likely to strike out.

I heard that, at first I couldnt make it out but when I did it was worth a good laugh.
Two wrongs don't make a right, and three rights... make a left.
