i honestly don't get why it bothers you so much. it's like a little kid being told their visit to chuck-e-cheese is gonna get pushed back a week. BUT ARGHHH YOU SAID THIS WEEKEND MOM!!!
and plus, this isn't the blue jays saying he should be ready for opening day. it's michael saunders himself, telling a reporter that he's "hoping" and "confident" he will be ready by opening day. kind of a big difference there. if you can't temper expectations yourself based on what he said, then it's not the blue jays with the problem here
Sensi, you're prone to go on these mini-rampages without even thinking about what you are writing. You just get the urge to lay into someone from time to time. At least next time take the time to go with something a bit more clever or relevant.
If you had actually slowed down and followed what Ive said on this board and in this thread the you'd realize I'm simply pointing out the absurdity of the original timeline that was delivered by the Jays. To go from out until then AS break to now Saunders saying he's hoping to be ready for opening day is such a huge change that it made me laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Personally I don't care if Saunders is back by opening day or two weeks into the season or at the beginning of May as long as he is healthy and able to contribute for the rest of the year. But, back to my pizza now.
oh, i'm not thinking about what i'm writing? here you are stating that "expectations are set" that saunders will be ready by opening day. no one has set that expectation but yourself. i'm merely asking why the change of not just saunders but other injured players recovery timelines bothers you so much, because i actually have slowed down and followed what you've said previously -- it seems to really bother you for some reason. i just don't know why you or anyone for that matter cares so much about the timeline inaccuracy on the initial prognosis of injuries. besides, calling out and laying into people who complain about pointless things is my schtick on this board
I guess I should feel honoured that you chose me as the sacrificial lamb this time. But, I suppose we have a fundamental difference between what's pointless and what's not. In my opinion, handling the PR for your player's injuries isn't exactly trivial. But, in case you don't feel like reading the wall of text I wrote above, the original comment was tongue-in-cheek and not me stating that I expect him back by Opening Day. I guess you don't think much of me as a poster if that's what you took from it. I need more of Schad's natural wit.
