i honestly don't get why it bothers you so much. it's like a little kid being told their visit to chuck-e-cheese is gonna get pushed back a week. BUT ARGHHH YOU SAID THIS WEEKEND MOM!!!

and plus, this isn't the blue jays saying he should be ready for opening day. it's michael saunders himself, telling a reporter that he's "hoping" and "confident" he will be ready by opening day. kind of a big difference there. if you can't temper expectations yourself based on what he said, then it's not the blue jays with the problem here

Sensi, you're prone to go on these mini-rampages without even thinking about what you are writing. You just get the urge to lay into someone from time to time. At least next time take the time to go with something a bit more clever or relevant.

If you had actually slowed down and followed what Ive said on this board and in this thread the you'd realize I'm simply pointing out the absurdity of the original timeline that was delivered by the Jays. To go from out until then AS break to now Saunders saying he's hoping to be ready for opening day is such a huge change that it made me laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Personally I don't care if Saunders is back by opening day or two weeks into the season or at the beginning of May as long as he is healthy and able to contribute for the rest of the year. But, back to my pizza now.

oh, i'm not thinking about what i'm writing? here you are stating that "expectations are set" that saunders will be ready by opening day. no one has set that expectation but yourself. i'm merely asking why the change of not just saunders but other injured players recovery timelines bothers you so much, because i actually have slowed down and followed what you've said previously -- it seems to really bother you for some reason. i just don't know why you or anyone for that matter cares so much about the timeline inaccuracy on the initial prognosis of injuries. besides, calling out and laying into people who complain about pointless things is my schtick on this board

I guess I should feel honoured that you chose me as the sacrificial lamb this time. But, I suppose we have a fundamental difference between what's pointless and what's not. In my opinion, handling the PR for your player's injuries isn't exactly trivial. But, in case you don't feel like reading the wall of text I wrote above, the original comment was tongue-in-cheek and not me stating that I expect him back by Opening Day. I guess you don't think much of me as a poster if that's what you took from it. I need more of Schad's natural wit.

Sports injuries like medicine in general have uncertainty around them, just accept it because teams will get timelines wrong that's just the way it is, its one of those things every or most fanbases bitch about. Its a proxy by which people air their grievances because of the lack of winning, next time just skip all these issues and just start whining about the playoff drought directly.

Well played. I didn't expect the "I'm a superior fan of my local team because I don't complain about their lack of success" card. You win this round.

Its not what i meant, i'm saying its very fair to bitch about overall lack of success but issues like PR handling are not valid complaints.

Old news. I just found out he just finished the Dunedin Tough Mudder competition about an hour ago.

haha i couldn't resist, that one was too easy. it's honestly all in good fun though. i apologize for comparing you to a child throwing a tantrum over chuck-e-cheese, just feel like there's no point in worrying or complaining about the jays PR handling and that nights king is right -- this is what people complain about when your team hasn't made the playoffs in 21 years. and complaining about complainers is my schtick. looking forward to another great season of mindless drivel on this board in any event.

I was just playing along with a Simpsons quote since I think you were the one that voted for Kodos.

Edit - Nope that was Satyr9. In any event, any decently big Simpsons fan should get that reference.

Wiretap: Saunders visits rust belt to deal with rust the way a reverse psychologist would. Gets lower body conditioning advice from Lance Armstrong while in New York.
