The marginal value of pinch-running up four (and removing one of your best hitters in favour of Tapia) is fairly limited. Also, Kirk needs the exercise.

If biggio was even an average hitter his OBP could be in the 4s

Could've been a sweep but I'll take 4/6 on the road. Hopefully we can sweep Baltimore this week. Feels like the Yankees are put of reach already Jesus. Another absolute heater for them 18-4 vs the cubs lmao

injuries and bad luck can happen - 1/3 the way and a lot of things can change by season's end. lol

the Jays just need to continue to win series after series. stay in their own lane and whatever happens by seasons end, The JAys put themselves in the best possible position to win.

Can’t control the NYY being on pace for the best MLB season since the 1930s (which won’t much mean of anything come playoff time). Series wins are still good results even if it doesn’t feel like it when the NYY can’t lose at all.

The Yankees will have their slump, can't keep that pace whole season

They probably will but I'm not so sure there's any catching them. The fact that all 3 wild card spots might be from the AL east is something MLB really needs to sort out. And the NL west seems to be trying to make the issue even more pronounced.

Think they were 8 games ahead of the Jays near the end of July in 2015. They are still catchable.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

And the only reason that the 'might' is there, is because AL East teams face other AL East teams more frequently. If there was a balanced schedule, it wouldn't be nearly as much of a question.

Last year, on August 27th we were 9.5 back of the Yankees, and on September 12th we were a game ahead of them.

na, its the best divison in baseball consistenty, even when they have a down year, the next year they come back swinging. if the other teams, in the other divisions, in wild card position can't beat the 'lesser' teams in weaker divisions, they truly don't deserve it at all.

I didn't mean get teams from other divisions into wild card spots. I meant it the other way around.

Particularly when the AL East teams have harder schedules by far. If four of the best six teams in the AL are from the East, those teams more than earned it.
