The pitching matchups are really in our favor. We need the sweep!

Lawrie! Hopefully he has better luck than Snider adjusting to the majors.

Maybe because Thames has been awesome in the two hole and Rasmus hasn't?

I actually don't mind him as a number 6 hitter long term (even if I did want to see him in the two hole at first).

Escobar/Lefty/Bautista/Lind/Lawrie/Rasmus/DH or LF/2B/Arencibia will look mighty good next year if even one of those are replaced with a star, like maybe...

Escobar/Reyes/Bautista/Lind/Lawrie/Rasmus/E5/Thames/JPA is still VERY VERY good. And leaves a lot of money for pitchers.

I assume it's to get Thames back on track.

I personally like Rasmus in the five spot, as that's where he's hit the best (career wise), but Edwin has been swinging a hot bat lately.

Well the fact that Thames has only been able to hit when hitting in front of Bautista should be worrisome.

Just for future reference, Reyes would be the leadoff man in your proposed lineup.

I agree with getting Thames back on track by moving him before Bautista and letting him see more FBs. I only wish we would have given Snider the same opportunity to hit before Bautista.

Yeah, moving Thames back there makes sense after his recent struggles outside of the two spot. It's better to have him hit in front of Bautista than not hit at all. If the Jays plan to listen to offers about him, too, it also keeps the perception of his value higher than it would be otherwise.

Disappointing to see Hill in front of Lawrie. I hope that doesn't last too long.

1. Why is Aaron Hill still starting over John McDonald?
2. Why is Aaron Hill batting in front on Lawrie and Arencibia?

DFA Rauch, then Aaron Hill and Mark Teahen right behind him.

Jays gotta be the only team in baseball to debut their top offensive prospect in the 9 hole. Geez. Hosmer and Ackley didn't start their first game there. They did this to the Snide too. Redonk.

Yeah, it's a little strange; Cooper and Thames debuted in the seventh spot (which is for whatever reason the 'usual' opening position for guys with power), but Lawrie's ninth. Not a big gripe, just odd.

I am excite.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
