Manning is one of the most competitive players around, if you guys really think he only sees a 1st round exit and so forth as success you guys gotta be kidding me.
and what is wrong with this denver team? they have a D that always keeps them in games, has a line that is one of the best and a running game that worked last year. WR's maybe questionable but manning will find a way.

I see SF as clearly the much better team for him to play for if his top priority was to win the most amount of games and have the greatest chance of a SB. He picked Denver instead because other factors were a huge part of what he considered when deciding where he wanted to be. John Elway probably told him he wouldn't think of pushing him out for a younger QB whereas the brass in charge of SF probably wouldn't extend the same sort of verbal guarantee. They would have had to trade Kaepernick or that draft pick would have gone to waste if Manning stays healthy, that's not good for SF or Manning, and SF probably didn't or couldn't make a move fast enough to salvage that asset and Manning didn't want to have think for the next 5 years if Harbaugh would eventually scrap Manning and turn it over to the kid for whatever reason. How weird would it be if a legendary QB like Elway pulled out the rug from underneath another legendary QB? More weird than if Harbaugh did it.

Right, I was agreeing with you and chimed in with my commentary seconding your sentiment. Also, to the other guy that didn't seem to understand what we were talking about...if it was a matter of not wanting to be in the NFC against Eli well it seemed Houston wanted him and they were far more dominant in their division than Denver was in theirs, and they too took a non-superstar QB into the playoffs. Or maybe he didn't want to face his old team twice out of some sort of respect. But that would just be another reason pointing to a reason other than wanting to win as part of his motivation, which just further emphasizes our position.

Manning went to Denver over SF because of several reasons, but mainly because of;

1) $$$
2) Didn't want to play his brother 1-2 times a year
3) Also the pressure of a Super Bowl, with Denver it's him taking a team that won one playoff game, with SF it was a team that was one fumble from going to the Super Bowl. Too much pressure for poor Manning.

Both Jacob Tamme and Jeff Saturday are scheduled to visit the Broncos.

Tamme left Seattle without a contract. Saturday has a visit with the Titans first, but it'd be surprising to me if he doesn't visit Denver before making a decision.

Denver is a good team, but they aren't a super bowl ready team, and Manning doesn't have many years left to wait for them to get everything they need to win it all.

You say that but they should come in next year with a super solid D and a good WR corps... Essentially they are the Giants of the AFC now.

Uh, plenty if you're the kinda QB who wants to win a super bowl before you turn 40.

Denver went 8-8 last year in a terrible division, only winning it due to a combination of San Diego choking and Tebow rallying the team to play above themselves.

Compare that to SF, who was a fumble away from the Super Bowl and is bringing back their entire starting defense as well as adding their only missing piece which is a few WRs.

The situations are vastly different if you're looking to win now, but apparently Peyton would rather not risk hurting Eli's legacy knocking him out in the divisional rounds instead of hoping to face him in the Super Bowl.

Anybody that thinks Peyton doesnt care about winning another SuperBowl needs to be re-evaluated..It seems ppl leave out the fact that Peyton is confident in his abilities as well..Denver made him comfortable he says he likes thier Defense, they have some weapons on Offense, theres still time to sign some free agents and the Draft..So i dont think Peyton is scared of a Challenge..Yes SF was the best team,but as far as him not wanting to hurt Eli's legacy....Eli has 2 SB Rings, so I doubt that was the thinking..Peyton is more concerned with enhancing his legacy which is only right.
