He's a #2 at this stage of his career. Which is fine.

I haven't seen how much was guaranteed ($), but I assume the team has an easy out.

Good signing. That’s a pretty good OL. I wanted him back with the eagles but it’s another one of those things that there’s cheaper options on the eagles so I get it. The rest of the Eagles OL is stacked as long as they stay healthy so having a below average to average RG won’t hurt them too much.

He doesn't have the speed element to his game anymore. But he's still one of the better route runners. Option routes.

I'm really curious to see how they deploy both he & JSN together. It will be a completely different looking offense.

I'm pretty skeptical of this. Cooper and JSN are both Y receivers and like to do the same thing. Kupp also couldn't get any separation last year...I hate to say this but he looked like Jarvis Landry towards the end of his career. These dudes just lose everything in a short period of time.

He couldn't get open at all last season. Stafford couldn't even throw to him because he was blanketed all the time.

In the back half of the season he averaged like 5 targets per game. About to be 32...odds are he's completely washed man. I hate to say that because he seems like a good dude but this is bleak

2/$20mill for Mekhi Becton. About what I expected, I hope he continues to play well. On to the next stoutland project

The only thing that makes me hesitant about the move is his durability. Hasn't played a full season. But I'm less concerned about the fit. JSN is more than just a slot receiver. I'm fascinated to see what it ultimately looks like.

Again, the initial contract numbers are always inflated by agents. The ONLY number that truly matters is the amount of guaranteed money. That's it. The other stuff is smoke & mirrors. You should know that by now.

Kupp will likely never see that 3rd year.

That's cheap. Aaron Banks got 3 years, $45 million though I think only $20 or $30 million is guaranteed.

Banks is very average.

Banks got $27m. So, essentially, 2 years- $27m.

Myles Garrett gave a press conference, said it's not about the money, though he had no problems re-signing with the Browns after saying he's never playing for them again, when they offered him the biggest non-QB contract.

He's wearing some custom tailored jacket which probably cost thousands.

Hey it's cold in Cleveland, especially when the Browns aren't winning.

You know he puts up great numbers but the Browns still lose so maybe he's not terribly impactful?

Browns defense was in the bottom half of the league giving up 342.1 yards a game, somewhere around #17 or #18.

But they were #27 in points per game allowed at 25.6.

So maybe they might actually improve the defense if they spent that $123.5 million in guaranteed money for several players to improve the defense or even offense and special teams.

But I guess he's the face of the franchise since they got stuck with that albatross Watson contract.

Even if Watson played well, would they want him to be the face of the franchise given his off-field problems?

Or if he led them to playoffs every year, the fans wouldn't care?

It is about the money, and honestly I don’t blame him. He should’ve at least kept it real tho, don’t pretend like it’s about winning when it clearly isn’t.

It’s the most affordable free agent guard deal so far but he’s also possibly the biggest question mark. He was looked at as a bust before he went to the eagles. One has to wonder if he goes back to his previous ways when he isn’t being coached by Jeff stoutland every day.

Becton is a mauler at that size. But he's average to below average in pass pro, if you look at his PFF grading. Not every team will see him as a fit either. Most wide zone teams likely wouldn't.

I will say that he was probably the “weak link” on the eagles OL so he did see a lot of guys shift over onto his side. That being said, I’ve seen several times where lane Johnson would pass off a pass rusher to Becton and Becton was not ready for it which looks bad on lane when in reality it’s Becton missing the assignment.

It's been an issue for him his whole career. It's why he struggled mightily as a Tackle with the Jets. The Eagles did the smart thing as usual, by moving him inside.

Yup. Unless you have a bad GM/Cap guy. That Kupp contract should end up being in that 2/23-25 range. And it's not just the guaranteed money you need to wait to hear.

Take the Jonathan Allen contract for example. It first reported as a 3/60 deal. That 60 immediately got cut down to 51 once you take out the "not likely to be earned" incentives (those incentives aren't even accounted for on the cap, unless they miraculously hit them and even then, they don't actually hit the cap until the next season).

Then that 3rd year for Allen technically is on the books as a 17.4 mil cap hit. But the dead cap is only 4.6 mil. So they can just cut him and save themselves 13 mil. And the 4.6 really is just around 1% of the cap, not much of a hit at all.

So the initial report of the Allen contract being 3/60. Actually ends up being a 2/33 contract.
