Cowology wrote:Dre could put up 16 & 13 even without any sorta offensive game. The post moves will take a few years to develop, but he's still just a kid. He's got time. He doesn't have to be Hakeem or Duncan on the block - just develop 1 solid move with 2-3 counters and he'll be in 20 ppg territory. By the time he's 23 or 24 he'll be beasting on people at both ends. Especially if we surround him shooters as opposed to chuckers.

The bigger question will be his FT shooting. He needs to at least get into that 55-60% territory just to keep defenses honest. I'm not as worried about his range because he should be able to either back people down or use his quickness to go around them. It certainly wouldn't hurt to be able to knock down a 10-12 footer, but with his physical tools I think he could be pretty difficult to defend regardless.

I definitely agree with you here, Cow. Drummond can easily eclipse the 20 PPG average with the right players around him, and more development to his low post game. He doesn't need to be Duncan, just a solid hook shot and a few counter moves.

With his FT shooting, he seems like he's finding a better rhythm for it. They seem to have a softer bounce to them. I think he's improving to at least being a bad FT shooter, opposed to an abhorrent one.

Dre Drummond wrote:Minny is once again in the lottery and most people believe Love will be wanting to leave to go to a situation where he can win. He's averaging insane numbers and is definitely a top 10 NBA talent... perhaps top 5 or 6.

Hypothetically, the TWolves call up Joe D wanting to trade Love for Dre (and CV + Jonas to make contracts work). Would you make the move? Would love's perimeter shooting make our front court work? Would it give Moose more room to operate down low? Would it allow Smith to work inside more with Love able to hit from the perimeter?

Right now there are certainly probably only 4 or 5 players in the NBA I'd trade Drummond for, but Love might be one of them.

Forgive me, but I am not sure how the contracts work out... one player (Love) for 3 Pistons? How are the Wolves able to have 18 players on their roster? Could someone explain? Do they just release 3 players? Can they?

If it were possible, I would make the trade. No questions. I get 3-point shooting on top of roughly the same rebounding... and a much better FT shooter who avgs. 8.3 attempts per game. However, this was a hypothetical question and the chances of anything like this happening, are practically nil. In regards to the future, one never has any certainty. Maybe we start winning and Love finds the fishing in Lake Michigan to be unparalleled. :P

Love is an actor. He has an image for it too. There's a 100% guarantee that he'll go to the Lakers. It just makes too much sense.

THIS is the real issue, not "love is only great at putting up stats". lmao what does that even mean?? that's like saying "he's one of the best at what he does, i wouldn't want him on my team." it's not his fault the t'wolves can't put a competent roster around him. i can't wait til he thrives in LA.

Love is my favorite player in the NBA.. With that being said, I still wouldn't trade Dre for him..

Id trade Monroe for him and Minny would too they are sick of missing the playoffs

Love, Budinger, KMart, Barrea, Mbah a Moute
for
Smith, Monroe, Stuckey, Jerebko, Bynum

Jennings / Barrea
KMart / KCP
Budinger / Singler
Love / Mbah a Moute
Drummond / Harrelson

We take on Minny's trash (KMart, Barrea, MBah = Smith's money) and give up Monroe, Stuckey, Smith

If you exchange KLOVE for Dre , i think Minny becomes a instant playoff team. Kevin love has done nothing but put up stats. He's more a compliment player than a player that is going to lead a team to winning. also only if he signs extention

Okay. K. Love and his teammates handed the Pistons a nasty 27 point defeat earlier this season on Detroit's home court... while Drummond put up a whopping 8 pts. and 8 rebounds.

Forgot about whether or not Love puts up empty stats or not for a second. He's an FA after next year. Dre will be here for another 7 years.

Winner.

Drummond for Love isn't happening, and we don't have the pieces otherwise to entice Minnesota.

I wouldn't give Drummond for Love. Drummond has too much value. Sorry.

The "empty stats" argument is one of the worst arguments.

Stats are only "empty" if they're put up using high usage, low efficiency.

You know why the Wolves are under .500? They're 1-11 in games decided by 4 points or less. They've been incredibly unlucky this year, as their pythagorean win-loss is 33-20 (which is 9th best). Much like how one-run games in baseball generally boil down to luck, there's a bit of a luck-factor played into close games like that.

I think the best we could do is

Monroe, KCP, Stuckey, CV31, Singler

For

Love, Budinger, Brewer, Barea

I think a Drummond/Love/Smith front court could work nicely.

as of right now K Love is miles ahead of Dre, however if any team is looking to build around a player, 9/10 execs would pick Dre. KLOVE is 4+ years in the league with a legit center, PG and his production has not translated to wins.

The problem with love is he isn't a good defender. Hes not a shot blocker either. Id take Blake Griffin over love right now.
