You can mock the guys that want a stretch 4 and love the 4 out 1 in game plan all you want, but it's one of the main lineups we run and is a successful one with a guy that is a below average starter. I really don't understand your hate for the stretch 4.
I don't hate stretch 4's, I hate people's use of the term (and max contract for that matter) with absolutely zero context of what they're talking about. Any PF with a decent 15 footer gets called a stretch 4 around here when in fact, that's just a POWER FORWARD. And for the record, if given the choice, I'd rather have a Taj Gibson over some unicorn of a stretch 4 that could supposedly rebound and defend. It barely exists but this board doesn't have any problems chasing their tail on that one as if that type of player is in abundance.
Absolutely. Guys like Gibson and Bass can hit a jumper while also contributing in other areas.
