Beyond being colossally rude, he was assaultive towards security staff. A ticket is a license to be somewhere and subject to conditions. That license is subject to revocation for failing to observe those conditions. What I can't believe is people defending this guy. Even if you don't like Dolan, would you think it okay if Laimbeer attended a Piston game and went out of his way to berate and demean Gores, and then physically resist being shown the door? I object to the idea that boorish behavior is a hallmark of Piston fans.

That's great, but almost every single player is backing Oakley for a reason; he's a true Knicks and has given his all for that franchise. Dolan is an stupid businessman (another one) who only thinks about earn money and doesn't have any ethic code. We have never been in that bad situation, but I would be very proud if a Pistons legend claim in public our owner about to stop to ruin our organization and turn into s**t every single thing he touches.

I think we always have to be on the side of workers, and you can't see what Knicks are doing to Melo. They're disgusting and I'm proud Oakley has made sure to be heard.

But nowadays it's all about being peaceful and politically correct, that's why we have less rights every single day.

Plus, it's easy to always root against Dolan since he's grade A nonsense. Case closed, the charges are absolute BS.

He's an OG that is a multi-millionaire!

Acting like a **** shouldn't be applauded regardless of who he's attacking

Let's say Ron Artest punches the right guy - does that justify what Ron did?

Say you see a guy on the street you used to work with who was ALWAYS a dick to you - punching him in the face is justified?

"Dolan deserved it", "it's funny" or "Oak is hardcore"...that's bull!

Oakley acted like a hoodlum and deserves whatever punishment comes his way.

Oakley didn't punch anybody. At most he slapped and resisted his unjust escorting off of premises. Could he have gotten out better? Sure but as it stands all he did was make it harder on security because he thought he was being unfairly targeted by a petty ass owner who wants him out as soon as he steps foot into MSG.

If he actually punched somebody, then this would've been a whole lot bigger news than it already bizarrely was.

So what's with these dumb ass Artest and "guy at work" comparisons?

I have no idea, it's a lot of assumptions based on not a lot of evidence.

@Pharaoh:

You are operating on a LOT of assumptions right now on Oakley. We've already proved he didn't punch anyone, but was violently resisting arrest. We have no idea if he did heckle Dolan and we also have no idea if Dolan just spotted Oakley and sent his thugs to kick Oakley out based on an old feud. If Oakley's account is true, then the opposite of what you said is true, it was Oakley who was harassed and baited into this nonsense. I'd raise hell too if I paid good money for tix and all of sudden the owner looks at me and sends his security force to harass and kick me out without any good reason. Again, if Oakley's account is to be believed.

The Knicks PR literally said Oakley was "not well". What does that even mean, that he's a lazy drunkard and mentally unstable? That's active character defamation. You don't do that to an old legend that bled for your franchise and made you money. I'm not about to look past Dolan's scandalous and assbehaving attitude to give him benefit of the doubt.

Charles Oakley, heroic man of the people? Poor working stiff downtrodden by the oligarchs? Okie doke. (Is Dolan moving the Knicks to Mexico?)

Hopefully a tape surfaces of the 4.5 minutes prior. None of us know what happened yet. If what oak said what happened is true. Dolan is wrong. If what Dolan said happened. The oak is wrong. Something tells me it's in between.

I've got great respect for Oak as a player while Dolan is a buffoon of an owner.

That said, it sure sounds like this is pretty much on Oak. There's supposedly statements from cops, security, and employees that he was out of line. And the scene he made when approached by security is inexcusable, no matter what led up to it.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

So the consensus here is that Oakley is justified for acting like a clown because he used to play for the Knicks and that allows him to behave the way he did with security?

Some of y'all have some weird values, although I bet the next time you're asked to leave an establishment you'll go quietly lol

Regardless of what went down between Dolan & Oakley neither has the right to treat security this way.

Even if you agree with Oakley and defend his rationale, you can't condone his actions in ruining the game experience of those who had to sit around him. That is unexcuseable.

The only thing that ruined the game for knicks fans is that Oakley didn't actually get to punch Dolan in the face. Well, that and the fact that the team is a disaster. They've had 7 years to put a team around one of the NBA's all-time best scorers and this is what they came up with?
