What about the following?
To DET: Mike Conley + picks
To LAC: Derrick Rose + Royce O'Neale
To UTA: Blake Griffin + Patrick Beverley
We would take a left-handed vet PG to mentor Hayes, LAC reunite the Rose/Kennard connexion and take a nice piece for their bench in O'Neale, UTA take the chance to become a contender with Blake and Beverley.

Would like to see Rose stay until the break... there is valuable mentorship to be had

Re: Pistons discussing possible Derrick Rose trade
Based on what I heard during the rookie introduction press conference, I’d imagine Rose will be around until at least the trade deadline (and perhaps after). Killian talked about how much he’s looking forward to playing with and learning from him. Casey talked about how great it will be to have two “elite” guards in Rose and Killian and how much Killian can learn from Rose.

My feeling is these talks, if they happened, went nowhere.

Re: Pistons discussing possible Derrick Rose trade
The ideal scenario for us is to have both Blake and Rose play well the 1st half of the season and be completely healthy and then we deal both of them at the deadline to ensure we end up with a top 5 draft pick. I don't think it makes sense to sell either of these guys low right now. Rose would have made sense at the last trade deadline but it didn't happen so he might as well start the season with us.

We could probably trade Rose to the Clippers for Sweet Louis and a future pick. We could even do it straight up as a solid to Rose for playing his heart out for us last season.

If healthy, Rose and Blake will garner a lot of interest at the deadline.
I just worry about Weaver being in charge of negotiating their trades....

...and I guess the flip-side to that is one or both of them get hurt.
Kills their trade value, but at the same time, helps us get a better draft pick for next year.

Re: Pistons discussing possible Derrick Rose trade
I don't think you're getting a first. I'd settle for two decent seconds - we need those, don't we, Weaver?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I think we need to NOT have cap space next offseason. I think that's important.
I agree with this statement. I don’t think that this front office has shown us that they will spend the funds wisely.

You mean Weaver would add seconds to Rose to move him for another player with a second year option that he could stretch out over 5 years?

They should have no picks left after the Paul George trade. The Stepien rule would kick in I believe
