well, well, well. the SHOW has been sayin it, but no one wishes to listen. we blow teams out, we drop 2 slots. there is a lid set on top, and folks have been holdin USC down. THE #1 DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY!

so fair play is fair play. if no one can see the injustice in that, then they should see more clearly now.

TEXAS DEFEATED OKLAHOMA.

ahahahahaha.

and oh yeah, 1 more thing, how can you have a conference championship, WITHOUT HAVING AT LEAST THE BEST 2 TEAMS PLAYING IN IT?!?!

conference championships are a waste of time.

well mez, heres the setup that the SHOW is talkin about.

lets say florida defeats alabama.

florida deserves to be in the national title game. they are a good team, no doubt and taking nothing away from them.

but heres the point.

THEY ARE CURRENTLY A #4! THEY WOULD JUMP UP AND OVER TO #1.

but if alabama loses, the #2(oklahoma) should move up to #1 correct? THEN SO SHOULD ALSO THE #3 MOVE UP TO #2! in effect(yeah sounds funky), BUT TEXAS SHOULD PLAY OKLAHOMA IN THE NATIONAL TITLE GAME! your 2, you move up to 1. your 3, you move up to 2. but the way its set up, florida will jump up to the national title game(i know, hold onto your homer bias for a second), AND USC WILL WATCH HELPLESSLY AT 5TH REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENS!!

cmon now, something is fishy.

If Fl wins, they will move to #2, not 1. Oklahoma would be #1.

When you beat the #1 team in the nation, you move up more than 1 spot.

Watch #5 Texas vs #1 Okla
#7 T Tech vs #1 Texas.

That just how it works. If Fl beats Bama, USC would be #4

If USC played Okla next week instead of UCLA, believe me, you all would jump to #2 or 1. No bias, just the way the system works

Man, playoffs would have been nice. Top 8 BCS teams playing for a true NC.

1 Alabama 0.971
2 Oklahoma 0.935
3 Texas 0.922
4 Florida 0.885
5 USC 0.807
6 Utah 0.784
7 Texas Tech 0.780
8 Penn St. 0.737

Every game would have been the greatest thing ever.

Oklahoma is much deserving. I cant wait for the SEC vs Big 12 matchup. Easily the 2 best conferences this year going against each other.

+0.25. If the Big XII was designed to have the best two teams play for the conference championship, then it would be much better. BUT NOOOOOO.

Also, if USC doesn't win next week I'm holding you personally responsible.

mezzy, what does that mean? is that actually in the BCS handbook? defeating someone on the field of play means absolutely nothing. these are made up presumptions. the sec strong. pac10 weak. big12 powerful. big10 not so good. again, look at texas.

USC lost on the 3rd week of the season! months ago. but hope was lost after the 3rd week of play? so why were we penalized? all of these teams have inferior defenses compared to USCs, that is prerequisite of a powerhouse team. we have the longest winning streak of the top 5, except for alabama. nevertheless, we get penalized because these type of mini rules and regulations get made up. like "you move up more than 1 spot if you defeat so and so" you move down 2 spots. your conference is great or your conference is not good.

TEXAS BEAT OKLAHOMA!

so what does that all mean. USC IS GETTING CHEATED OUT OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. we have the best defense in the country, and we would defeat any team placed in front of us. period.

Look, I never said I like the system. But just saying it is not biased, it is consistently wrong against everyone.

Again, USC has been victim of a weak schedule afer their loss. If USC had beaten top 10 teams after their loss, they'd be ranked higher.

So you are saying if Florida beats Bama, USC suld be ahead of Fl? Why? USC has not had any impressie wins after their loss. Beating the #1 team in the nation is much more impressive than anything USC has done all year. Same could be said about Oklahoma

I wa hoping USC would make itagainst Fl. I am sick of USC claiming to be better than everyone each yearjust because they get to beat upon th 2nd best team from the Big 10. I' love to face USC. Iwe lose, than they deserve e hype, if they lose, than shut the hell up SC fans. I as hoping fo USC to mke it, I thnk i woul make fo a hell of a gme

You are assuming USC would beat anyone in front of them, how do ou know?

Yeah, but beating the "#1 team" isn't saying much when they've had a cake schedule too..

"If USC had beaten top 10 teams after their loss, they'd be ranked higher. "

you mean like texas defeating the #2 team in the country? if defeating a high ranked teams are the parameters that you are using, TEXAS DEFEATED OKLAHOMA.

so defeating top ranked teams ARE NOT a barometer. defeating top ranked teams IS NOT the key to moving up. proof? TEXAS DEFEATED OKLAHOMA.

but if florida defeats alabama AND POW, they would pass up texas into the title game. how would that happen, TEXAS is higher ranking than florida. if florida is #4, whoever is 1,2,3, moves up before florida, correct?

there is also an underlying bias against USC.

what are you talking about Lakeshow?

Texas went from 5 to 1 after beating #1. 4 spot jump
T Tech went from 7 to 2 after beating #1 Texas. 5 spot jump
Okla went from 5 to 3 after beating #2 T Tech. 2 spot jump
Alabama went from 8 to 2 after beating #3 Georgia. 6 spot jump
Florida went from 8 to 6 after beating #6 Georgia. 2 spot jump

Again, unlike the teams mentioned above, USC never got the chance to pkay a highly ranked opponent to move up multiple spots. For example, before USC beat Ohio State, they were #1 but barely ahead of #2. After that beatdown, USC was WAAAAY ahead of the competition as #1. If USC was #4 instead of 1 at the time, they would have clearly jumpep to #1 or at least #2.

Fair or not, the system is consistently bad or consistently good. Your crap that USC is getting cheated is pointless.

You keep claiming that USC would destroy anyone in front of them. Based on what? FL has been more dominat than SC and I would never say they would beat anyone in front of them.

What has USC done to claim themselves as the nation's best. They lost a game to an unranked opponent, had a couple of ugly wins vs Arizona and another team and has not faced a legit opponent other than Ohio State. Nothing after losing to the Beavers.

Look, I think USC is a tremendous team. Are they the best? YOU DON'T KNOW. That's the whole issue with this stupid system. Teams don't play the same schedule and it is not decided on the field. They could be the best, but you can't come here crying that they are. They have chances every year ranked at #1 early on the season and manage to screw it up by losing to some team they should have beaten. You don't know if they are the best.

Point being, based on this flawed system, Big 12 champion and SEC champion with 1 loss deserve to be ahead of USC based on schedule alone. Doesn't mean they are better. I for one, would love a playoffs system and put my Gators against your Trojans and may the best win. It would be one hell of a game.

WE HAVE THE #1 DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY! possibly IN HISTORY.

look at the past SEVERAL champions, theyve had similar defensive statistical data. but USCs defense is #1, and its not even close.

USC getting screwed from as much Utah and Penn St and i dont hear the screams from those teams. USC fans may think they are entitled to a spot but in reality they should ve taken care of the business against a team that gave up 65 points to Oregon.

other than the college football fans who are forced to get into asinine arguments every year due to absence of a playoff system, longhorns are the only ones that are getting screwed majorly this season.
