Depends on what the 1sts are. If they're fully unprotected FRPs in the latter year, say 30/32, that might be enough. How many of OKC's middling 1st rounders could we get if we traded them our unprotected 2030 and 2032? I'd guess, at least 5. Obviously, this year's LAC pick not included but all those mid firsts they've collected? 5 sounds about right.
If it's those 2 picks and podz, can't you make the argument that podz has the value of a mid first? If Sac was offering an FRP for JK (even though we'd have to take Monk), can't you say JK = a late first? 2 young players + expiring salary + 2 premium picks may be enough to get it done. Throw in a lightly protected pick swap and it probably gets done.
This board is super low on JK (not me) and Podz (me). They likely have more value around the league than we think. Isn't the problem that JJJ got an extension and is making 50M next year vs the 35 this season?
JK is not a late 1st. The 1st was for the salary dump of Monk on top of the 2 2nds they originally offered. But say the Grizz did value JK as a late 1st. 4 1sts for JJJ still seems light.
We know JK doesn't have value around the league. We literally just witnessed his agent scour the league for value and no one was offering it. Hell it's come out Toronto and Utah said absolutely not to JK.
I don't think that's true. His contractual situation was a limiting factor and if in Feb he gets the same lukewarm offers, I'll agree with you.
It's more likely JK is still on the team because of the lukewarm offers that won't be leaked.
