Wait you're serious? Dmo doesnt have 1/10 the athleticism of prime amare. Hes not a strong finisher and his mid range is crap. This is the same guy that shoots 45% of his ft in europe and 62% of his ft in his rookie year. Hes a career 60% shooter from the charity stripe, you think he can hit 18footer with enough consistency to help us?
As I've said, I was being hyperbolic with the comparison. But yes, I think he can help this team. 45% from a jump shooting big is pretty good, I think he can be a very good roll man with the right PG, and I think he can give the team a different look off the bench. And if Asik gets shipped for Millsap, and there is no real back-up center, he and Greg Smith will have to compete for the spot anyway. Smith is more athletic, but a very one-dimensional offensive player. DMo is more skilled, and I would venture to guess that he might be more helpful than Smith off the bench. I didn't realize he was such a bad FT shooter, but still better than Dwight and about as good as Smith. (Amar'e was about where DMo and Smith are during his rookie year, when he still played 31 minutes; DMo has already improved from his European days, and there is no reason think that he couldn't improve further.)
