Wait you're serious? Dmo doesnt have 1/10 the athleticism of prime amare. Hes not a strong finisher and his mid range is crap. This is the same guy that shoots 45% of his ft in europe and 62% of his ft in his rookie year. Hes a career 60% shooter from the charity stripe, you think he can hit 18footer with enough consistency to help us?

As I've said, I was being hyperbolic with the comparison. But yes, I think he can help this team. 45% from a jump shooting big is pretty good, I think he can be a very good roll man with the right PG, and I think he can give the team a different look off the bench. And if Asik gets shipped for Millsap, and there is no real back-up center, he and Greg Smith will have to compete for the spot anyway. Smith is more athletic, but a very one-dimensional offensive player. DMo is more skilled, and I would venture to guess that he might be more helpful than Smith off the bench. I didn't realize he was such a bad FT shooter, but still better than Dwight and about as good as Smith. (Amar'e was about where DMo and Smith are during his rookie year, when he still played 31 minutes; DMo has already improved from his European days, and there is no reason think that he couldn't improve further.)

From what i've heard, dmo bulked up in his last year in europe. Eversince, his shot has gone to hell.

Dmo has range but his shot has no accuracy. Check his ft%, check his 3pt%. Dmo cant make a shot from anywhere.

Smith is one of the best pnr finisher in the nba. When he comes back, dmo will never get off the bench again.

Look at smiths shot percentage around the rim. Look at his career fg%. Look at his ts%. The guy can finish.

Greg smith cant shoot outside of 5feet and he knows it. Just for that reason alone, hes going to be ahead of dmo in the rotation.

Dubs Fan here, coming in peace.
Congratulations on your win, as Dubs didn't deserve to win.
When you put on that jersey, the name on the front is more important then the name on the back.

I'm sure you're right. Smith is the safer choice, and it's too late for any more experimentation on this team. I just like DMo's attitude, and I think he's got a lot of untapped potential. I also like Greg, and he is a very good p-n-r finisher; but I don't think he has any upside. But he must also be super rusty at this point. So we'll see what happens if no center returns for Asik.

Parsons shot 55% from the FT line his rookie year.

Though it's B2B, we are good to go.
The refs will be on ourside if we come up short. :)

dont underestmiate how pathetic the rockets can be. the slow start to the season ended only 2 weeks ago. last week we lost to two straight games which were vs lottery teams.

Didn't see the reply but what I meant was, I just had a hunch that the league will give us a win based on our marketing value. The league won't allow a team of our caliver sucking so bad on ntl. tv repeately.

maybe, but still they're inconsistent at feeding dwight. dwight doesnt demand the ball when he doesnt shoot for awhile. most of the offense is one on one, with everyone standing at the 3pt line. no movement, no screens, no cuts. what a waste of shooters. why not play brewer and convington if ur gonna waste the shooters' talents? brewer can play good defense, i dunno wtf covington does but he has size.

i dont get why this team is wasting so much time. my 2k plays are a million time sbetter than what they run most of the game. its like they have an addictive personality. after running iso harden a few plays they run it over and over. they forgot about the other 1000 plays in the playbook.

sure we won, and getting better, but this team has long ways to go.

Parsons shot 55% from the FT line his rookie year.

And thats why he was a 2nd round pick. He was a sh*t FT shooter throughout college. That made scouts extremely skeptical of his perimeter shooting.
Props to him for improving his shot after the rookie campaign. Not everyone can do it. Chandler was the exception to the rule.

9 times out of 10, FT shooting is a good indicator of someone's shooting prowess. Bad FT shooting indicates a consistency issue with the release. If someone can barely hit the 60% mark on a stationary shot 15 feet away from the basket, whats his chance of hitting an 18 footer with world class athlete flying at him?

There has never been any indication that Dmo was ever a good shooter. None whatsoever.

In his last year in europe, he shot 45% from FT and 30% from the shortened international 3pt line.

During his rookie year in the nba, he was a 63%FT shooter and a 29% 3pt shooter.

When he was demoted to the dleague, he shot 63% from FT line and 17% from 3pt line.

This year he is shooting 63% from FT line and 18% from 3pt line.

Dmo hasn't shot the ball well for the past 3-4 years for any team, in any level of competition. He's more like a slower whiter Jared Jeffries with better post game.

Maybe D-Mo is the whiter Wilt Chamberlain (54% FG 51% FT) or whiter Shaq (58% FG, 53% FT)

Considering we gave up the rights to Nikola Mirotic and another first round pick, DMo cost us more than Royce White did. I don't see the point in trading him just for the sake of trading him since we're not going get much value back and he's not making that much.
