I see us 7-9 this year. My reasoning:
We overachieved and are likely to return to the norm (Barnwell's point)
We were very healthy last year - unlikely to continue
When we drafted A Rod we dropped 6 games, from 10-6 to 4-12. History tends to repeat itself.
We are constantly in the media. Teams go out of there way to avoid this noise as this always leads to losing.
We did nothing to improve the D, and teams just need to look to the San Fran game as a blueprint for a game plan.
I thought I was pessimistic but you have taken it to new heights. I think 10-6 or 11-5 is more realistic.
1. I agree we overachieved last year, but I'll add that another year with the head coach who calls plays works in our favor
2. We were very healthy last year, seems like the first time in forever...I'd counter slightly we have more depth this year
3. History repeating itself is irrelevant as a causal
4. Agree the media attention and the amount they are going to try and create a stir because we drafted a QB is going to be a pain in the ass all year
5. We have a TON of young players on the D already on the roster, a number of guys under 24...they need to step up their games
Kenny Clark, Kevin King, Darnell Savage, Jaire Alexander, Oren Burks, Josh Jackson, Rashan Gary, Montravious Adams, Kingsey Keke...that is a lot of young guys on a defense that flexed a lot of potential last year.
