2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
We did it in 2015, 2014, 2012, and 2011. We probably did it in other years, too, but I didn't feel like looking for them.

Re: 2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
Jacksonville is supposedly up and coming but they sure looked like crap last night. There will be a lot of green and gold in the stands. Not an easy win but a win. An early key to me is the Detroit game. Shouldn't be much trouble at home but we lost all 3 division home games last year. 12-4
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: 2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
Besides the Week 4 bye, I really like our schedule this year. With Romo out conceivably past Week 6, going 6-1 should be a realistic goal heading into that 3-straight-road-game stretch at the half way point of the season.
Finishing off with 3 straight division games lets us control our destiny going into the playoffs. Will be disappointed if we don't secure the division and a 1st round bye, but I guess that could be said about any season.

I see 10-6 and I actually feel that might be a bit gernous,8-8 or 9-7 wouldn't shock me.
Other than 2008,this is the first season with Rodgers as the starter that I feel like the Packers don't even have a puncher's chance to get to the Super Bowl.
This team has become the Mike Sherman Packers,a team that is a safe bet to make the playoffs pretty much because they have a great HOF QB,but not real threat to win the conference.
This is a Packer team that was absolultely humilated 38-8 by a good not great Cardnials team late last season.Lost to the Bears at home on Thanksgiving/Favre night.Needed a hail mary to avoid going 0-2 vs the Lions.Lost at home to the Vikings in a winner take all for the NFC north.
When people talk about 12-4 and 13-3 type of records and a Super Bowl run with this team in 2016 I just don't see it.Sure it will be nice having Jordy Nelson back, but we're talking about a 31 year old who relys a lot on speed and is coming off major knee surgery. He's not going to be a cure all.Plus the Packers problems last season went deeper than simply not having Jordy Nelson.
While I hated Kuhn with the ball in his hands I loved him as a blocker.Kuhn had a knack for coming up with some big blocks, just ask Julius Peppers.Losing him and Sitton is going to be big in a very bad way.Our WR group is odd to me,if you asked me if I like them all individually I would say yes,but as a group I think they are pretty medicore. If Jordy returns to his old self as well as Cobb, then it's a better than a mediocre group, but going into the season it's a medicore group based on what I seen last season and Jordy coming off a pretty signifigant knee injury and not playing in a real game in well over a year.
I think the Eddie Lacy could have a monster year, but even if he's capable he probably won't because because McCarthy is a dolt.
I have a man crush on our secondary but the defense is nothing sepcial.
With that said I think the biggest weakness with this team is the fact Mike McCarthy is still their head coach.
Here's how I see the NFC shaping up.

Re: 2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
My gut tells me that A-Rod's days of being able to single-handedly lift this team to greatness are over. Jordy won't heal completely this year and that TT completely messed up the O-line starting unit and depth by cutting Sitton. And that those things mean a subpar 8-8 season.
But there is something about the guys TT has brought in the last 2-3 years that seem like it will work. So, I'm going 12-4 and winning at least one home playoff game on the backs of the new secondary, linebacking core and some of the new offensive weapons like Cook coming on big time. This won't be the A-Rod dependent squad like it has been the past number of years.
All that said, still expect a slow start since MM doesn't work anyone hard in the preseason for fear of injuries.

Re: 2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
Somewhere between 10-6 and 12-4 as typically happens if Aaron stays healthy.
As for how they'll do in the playoffs, far to many variables for me to do anything more than purely guess at this point.
Health of the Packers entering the playoffs
What do the Packers look like entering those playoffs, both on offense and defense. The offensive and defensive lines concern me most.
What other teams make the playoffs in the NFC, how well are they playing, health of those teams, home field advantage/first round byes to who? etc.

Re: 2016 NFL/Packers Predictions Thread
I see skill position guys who can press all areas of the field and a QB who can use them. I see a defensive backfield full of guys who can come up and tackle as well as they play the ball. I see pass rush on the outside and one of the better D linemen in the game. To me, my biggest concerns are the non-Daniels parts of the D line and health in general. All things being equal I think this is a 13 win team with as good a shot as anybody.
