Like, if we traded Turner for Dragic and a 1st, Dragic hasn’t played at all for Toronto, so they’d be able to add Turner while losing no one that has played for them this year. Make sense?
I think losing Turner will hurt, but it will also clear up the on court assignments and fits.
Got it. Still, if the coach feels like he can't play Turner in crunch time, how useful is he? Something needs to give this year by the trade deadline.
Turner hasn't been played in crunch time since the O'Brien years, really. Or at least, he's basically only played situationally when there's defense/offense substitutions, or he was particularly hot that game. He's been of use for all those years, though. End game is just different from the rest of the game, much like playoffs are different from the regular season.
To be clear, I'm of the opinion that something needs to give this year, too, and that it's somewhat likely that Turner gets dealt at the deadline, if not also Levert.
