I recall them trying, giving him some snaps at the slot and there was one play where the ball went right through his hands in the red zone for an int.

So it's understandable that when his contract was up, they only saw him as a returner and unable to contribute to the offense. Thing is, I think Moss also left too, so the 49ers had no option to threaten defenses downfield, though for a year or two, VD racked up some big gains and TDs.

Ginn did nothing with us because the staff did not know how to use him. Used correctly it is obvious he can be productive. 49ers do not know how to create a deep passing game of how to use speed.

Well if they ran deep routes with Ginn, it was probably with Alex, who wouldn't throw the deep routes.

Ginn was gone by the time Kap took over.

I miss Ginn on Special Teams. The team has yet to replace what he did. Hayne looked like he was the person in preseason and the 49ers cut the plug on him

Yeah, but I wish he had been here for punt returns kick returns regardless.

It is literally the only thing I'm rooting for at this point, other than games that affect the Niners' pick.

For me at this point it has more to do with their fan base than the team base. Their fanbase over at Hoopla is insufferable. Wilson had a few good games and they went ballistic with it.

It's a combination for me. I spent almost six years in Seattle, and I absolutely despise their fair weather fans who claim to be superfans now that the team is good - but struggle to name more than four or five skill position players. But I also really dislike Pete Carroll, Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, and a number of other guys on the team.

DGB just caught a fade in the end zone; that was exactly what people were hoping to see from him.

Sucks to be a Jets fan, just needed a win and they were in and Buffalo is about to beat them. Pittsburgh is going to be more fun to see in the playoffs anyways

I was surprised, too. Dumb play by Roby at the end there, trying to return the two-point conversion. Just go down! Highly unlikely NE forces the fumble and then returns in for two points, but they accomplished half of that.

Tomsula would have coached New England to victory in the 4th quarter because he would have sent Gostkowski out to kick some mo'pho'king field goals on those 4th downs instead of going for it. 8-)

Return to San Francisco 49ers
