I recall them trying, giving him some snaps at the slot and there was one play where the ball went right through his hands in the red zone for an int.
So it's understandable that when his contract was up, they only saw him as a returner and unable to contribute to the offense. Thing is, I think Moss also left too, so the 49ers had no option to threaten defenses downfield, though for a year or two, VD racked up some big gains and TDs.
Ginn did nothing with us because the staff did not know how to use him. Used correctly it is obvious he can be productive. 49ers do not know how to create a deep passing game of how to use speed.
