I think Siegel just forgot about him on that list, cause there's a bunch of coaches on that list that I rate below Doc, all things considered. But any discussion about him between Clippers fans will inevitably end up being about nepotism, trading 1st round picks and other resentment led platitudes. And I don't even blame people for that, Doc does deserve a fair share of it, if not all. But a real discussion about his coaching skills, with specific play calls and strategic developments, could be very interesting. He did get the upper hand to some of those guys in past playoff series.

What we do know is that Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard appear quite willing to play for him.

I Will Never Get It - Has To Be Asked

Post#123 » by Wammy Giveaway » Wed Oct 10, 2018 5:13 pm

What is the big deal with Jeff Green? Does he only play good against bad teams and bad against good teams? Or does he have a fool's gold start where he drops to scrub level the more games he plays?

Also, keep in mind the Celtics drafted him while Doc was still coach, only to be packaged in a trade for superstar Ray Allen that would jump start the Big 3 era in Boston, so Doc must have had sentimental feelings towards not using him. It was also the start to Doc's priority switch to veterans, if my findings hold true.

Obviously the professionals of the NBA think more highly of Jeff Green than the fans. He's never as good as you hope but he always has an NBA job and always finds his way into the rotation, even on playoff teams. He's never played in fewer than 69 games or averaged less than 22 mpg.

Here he goes again, now on his 8th team...

https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/wizards/jeff-greens-versatility-and-reliability-display-so-far-wizards-preseason-games

Through three games, all the attributes Green brings to the Wizards have been on display. He can hold his own at small forward, power forward or even center in a pinch. He can run the floor and finish with oomph. And, when he’s on, he can score efficiently.

Green is averaging 13 points this preseason while shooting 60 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from three. It’s a small sample size, and his career numbers suggest those marks will be lower over the course of the regular season.

Green will be one of the players Brooks calls upon to step up and fill the void in different ways. Whatever the task is, Brooks knows Green will be ready.

Doc in Denial and Why Bud Should Have Been His Replacement

Ranma wrote:Just to be clear, I'm not arguing that Kokoskov would be an improvement over Doc for our current situation, though I wouldn't necessarily be against having him be our head coach. A more ideal situation would be having Budenholzer as the head coach and Kokoskov as one of his assistant coaches.
