Yea, I wouldn't simply say because Reggie has been tossed into a role above his talent we can't criticize bad decisions or bad plays.

Everybody else stepping up will cure 98% of that. It's the freeriders like Marcus who leave it to Reggie to make something out of nothing. Reggie has scored 300 more points than any other Clipper. Our leading scorer at 16.9 ppg. That's ridiculous. He gets the same noise Jamal used to get--but the players know different. In the absence of PG and KL, Reggie's TS% has plummeted from 58% last year to 49% now because there's not a single guy out there who can get his own shot. 90% of Marcus's and 92% of Luke's 3-pointers are assisted-- Reggie only 60%. It's easy to keep your %ages up when you're being spoon-fed your FGAs.

Sure, criticize him all you want. But the players know he's saving their bacon, taking the tough shot when--and because--nobody else will.

Not true bro. There's a lot of criticism aimed at Morris. Heck there's a lot of criticism thrown at Luke and T Mann at every opportunity there is.
It's hard for someone to make anything happen when Reggie holds on to the ball for the entirety of the shot clock.
It's also true Reggie has taken some big shots and made them but it's not because Morris or Batum passed on them.

bag on Reggie if you must but it is what it is

87% of Batum's 2-pointers and 96% of his 3-pointers are assisted

I'd think there is a difference between critique and "bagging" on someone, we can't lose all semblance of nuance here. I didn't read NickP's comment as suggesting bagging on Reggie.

Marcus Morris seems to get bagged on all the time though, whether rightfully so or not, and I don't see anyone saying that's a problem, so doesn't seem like bagging on players is inherently disliked, so if bagging is okay for Morris' sucking, then critique here and there should not be beyond any other player.

thank you for the "moderation" but it's not really responsive to the argument

Marcus does suck lol and a lot of the others are letting Reggie do the heavy lifting

nobody here has much nice to say about Marcus lol

it's Mann, Zubac, Luke who get off free

Luke's %ages are great but he's averaging under 10 ppg since the end of January :o

With regards to Luke, in February he is down to 23.9 mpg from his season average of 27.5 mpg, he was playing 28.5 mpg before that. This of course is due to the deadline which brought in Covington and added another option to soak some minutes, and before injury, Powell too.

There's generally no magic that can overcome minutes when it comes to raw production. Luke for the season averages 11.6 ppg in 27.5 mpg. Before February he was at 12.1 ppg in 28.5 mpg. Since February, 9.6 ppg in 23.9 mpg.

If you look at his rate, before February, he scored 12.7 pts every 30 minutes. After February he's scored 12.1 pts every 30 minutes. I simply can't be THAT mad about a change of 0.6 pts every 30 minutes.

One hot game and it's the same as before February.

It's the same thing for Morris and his rebounds. Sure, he's up to 4.5 rpg, but he's on the court 3 more minutes, so he better grab another 0.4 rebounds. His rebounds per minute didn't increase, so sorry, not impressed.
