A great day! From the penthouse to the outhouse for the fLakers
The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

Got to watch the last few beautiful minutes of that game. The time ran out and the announcers said the team was eliminated from the playoffs, and I turned off my ipad and slept blissfully. Vogel's story this morning is he knew the fLaker team was in trouble when they went 0-6 in preseason. I am sure that will save his job...

The NBA preseason rarely lies. Glad they crashed and burned

The Clippers secured their 11th-straight winning season, which is the longest active streak in the NBA.

The Lakers just recorded their 7th losing season out of their last 9

Clippers own LA

Nothing to brag about. We have 0 Titles in that span and only 1 WC Finals appearance. Lakers have 1 Covid Title. No victory parades for regular season wins. No banners for regular season wins.

Buccaneers didn't make the playoffs for over a decade, but won a SB. The Steelers haven't had a losing season since 2006-2007, but haven't won a playoff game in 5 years and only 3 playoff wins in 11 years.

As a Clipper fan since they came here in 1984--including 3 decades of Donald Sterling--I have no idea what you're talking about. Be a humbug if you want but this has been a great decade to be a Clipper fan with the best yet to come.

Odd you should mention the Steelers--some of the best fans on the planet win or lose. Tampa fans come and go.

It is being realistic. I have been a Clippers fan since 1987 when we came out of the draft with Ken Norman, Joe Wolf, and Reggie Williams. I attended games in the Sports Arena and was there for the opening of Staples, so I understand the long suffering well. The difference between those teams and now is those teams weren't eating up a ton of salary cap. Over the last 11 years, we have to be close to the top in Team payroll.

Over the Clippers "win streak"
7 of 15 EC Teams have been to the Conference Finals during this time. All 7 have been to multiple Conference Finals. 4 of those 7 went to the Finals

10 of 15 WC Teams have been to the Conference Finals. 4 of those 10 went multiple times. 5 of the 10 went to the Finals.

Lob City Clips went to 6 playoffs and missed 1 (Ballmer era), 3 1st round exits (2 Ballmer era), epic 3-1 collapse (Ballmer era), never won a playoff series in under 7 games, 24-33 playoff record.

Transition Clips went to 1 playoff 2-4 playoff record

Kawhi/PG Clips - 17-15 playoff record, once conference finals. 1st time since Dunleavy the Clippers (5) won a playoff series in less than 7 games (6). They have done it twice. Epic 3-1 collapse, but epic series win over top seeded Jazz.

The numbers indicate getting to the WC Finals hasn't been that hard to do in the West, but we couldn't reach it until last year the Suns (spent most or our winning streak sitting at home for the playoffs and not limiting Team salary) also made it.

Sure, we have an 11 year winning streak with 9 (potentially 10) playoff appearances. But those 9 appearances had 4 1st round exists, a 2nd round drubbing and two 2nd round 3-1 collapses. For the roster accumulated and money spent that hampered roster building, this team has completely underachieved.

As far as the Steelers, I'm Black and Gold to the core. We have fans bragging that the coach has never had a losing season, but over the last 11 years we have seen two division rivals make the SB (and one win it all) while we made 1 AFC Championship game (blown out). We haven't won a playoff game in 5 years, we made the playoffs 7 times in those years, but got bounced in the 1st playoff game 4 of those times (twice by division foes). One of those playoff years we won the 1st playoff game thanks to officiating and Vontez Burfict melting down. We have been down by at least 3 touchdowns in each of our last 4 playoff games (The last 3 were all 1st playoff games) Only some meaningless TDs against prevent defenses made it look competitive.

We held onto a QB for way too long that took up too much of the cap and hasn't had post season success since the D led by Troy Polamalu started retiring and getting cut. We have a GM (retiring) that wanted to blame everyone else other than the QB and keep paying the guy way too much and hampering the team's ability to improve the overall roster.

Making the playoffs in the NFL isn't hard. I think the Jets are the only team that hasn't been in the last decade. Winning a playoff game has also been accomplished by a high percentage of teams over the last decade. A large percentage of teams have won a divisional round game and made it to the Conference Championship. In the AFC only 3 teams have made it to multiple AFC Championship games in the last decade (Pats, Chiefs, and Broncos). You are never going to win a league title if you can't even play for your conference title.

I don't see the point of being a fan of any team if you're not able to enjoy the good times. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What's clear is that Lakers are toast unless Jeanie Buss sells out to a corporation like the one that bought the Dodgers. She has no spare cash and the Lakers have no draft picks like forever.

The Bubble championship and the whole LeBron thing was a one-way ticket. They did The Process with 6 disgusting losing seasons and then traded it all away for AD.

Frankly, if the Clippers had won The Mickey Mouse Bubble Trophy then followed it with a 1st-round elimination and then this year's Laker 33-49 humiliation they'd be BURYING us.

[I'd rather spend my time hating on the Lakers. ]

Right now they are screwed no matter what, the difference between the 2 current rosters is night and day. We both mortgaged our futures to bring superstars to each team, but despite that we have built a really deep roster while the Lakers are trying to improve the team with scraps.

It is not irrelevant that the Lakers did win a title, they do get credit for that. I don't actually even hate the Lakers, but the path forward from here seems extremely difficult for them. Westbrook still has a year left, Lebron only has a year left, and AD seems to depreciate with every passing year.

Basically hit on the head here. We both went all in, essentially sacrificing the late 2020s for an early on title.

They hit the goal, we haven't. However, they don't seem to have a chance of getting another, while we can still claw to meet the initial goal.

The Lakers are now a garbage org.

Not counting LeBron singlehandedly winning them the Mickey Mouse Trophy, the Lakers have been a losing organization for a decade. And with no draft picks, no young talent, and none of Ballmer's billions to laugh at the luxury tax with, add NO CLASS.

After insulting Ty Lue and Monty Williams in their last coach search, and humiliating their 3rd choice Frank Vogel by forcing Jason Kidd on him as an assistant [and Sword of Damocles successor]

Today's NBA news. Report: Lakers would have fired Frank Vogel already if Jason Kidd was still around, but plan to let him finish season.

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2022/3/4/22962320/lakers-rumors-frank-vogel-fired-head-coach-record-espn-report-woj-jason-kidd

now the Jeanie Buss/Linda & Kurt Rambis $hitshow disrespects Terry Stotts:

Lakers Ask Terry Stotts If He's Interested In Assistant Role For Second Time
    MAY 25, 2022 10:14 PM

Terry Stotts interviewed again for the Los Angeles Lakers' head coaching position on Tuesday. The Lakers will also interview Darvin Ham and Kenny Atkinson.

Stotts was previously asked if he would have interest in joining the Lakers as an assistant coach should he not be hired as head coach. Stotts told the Lakers he has no interest in joining the franchise as an assistant coach.

The Lakers previously asked Stotts to join their coaching staff under Frank Vogel last season, but also declined.

The Clippers went from having the worst owner in the NBA to the best. The Lakers went from first to worst. And look who got The Logo. WHO GOT DAT LOGO??????????

The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Darvin Ham as head coach on a four-year deal.

Um, duh. I know nothing about the man. Only a first-time coach would walk into this mess. Or a retread who has no other interviews so what the hell.

I wish him well but it's the Lakers so I really don't.

Ham is intelligent individual, think he has the potential to be a good coach, but the Lakers are a **** situation to debut with. You got a primadonna in LeBron who picks and chooses when he puts effort, Anthony Davis who is either sitting or not trying, Russ, who still thinks he's goated.

And the fact that they were trying to make Stotts an assistant shows the confidence they have in Ham..... speaking of Stotts, if he willing to be an assistant for a year, I'd love him

Well, of course if you're an assistant anywhere with no other interviews, you accept the challenge. You don't want to wuss out. That doesn't work either.

But aside from Sharman, Riles, Phil Jax and arguably Del Harris, historically the Lakers job is a coaching graveyard.
