Eric Gordon & Robin Lopez Audio Interview

Post#1 » by mkwest » Sat Aug 22, 2009 12:31 am

When you’re a high school basketball player summer break means one thing: basketball camps.

As a nationally ranked high school player that means jumping from tournament to tournament and last weekend Adidas held their Adidas Nations tournament. What separates this camp from others is that players from around the globe are taking part as well. This year Adidas brought in players from Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and Latin America to compete against two teams representing the United States.

Throw in some NBA players acting as mentors and a handful of former NBA head coaches and it’s a great opportunity for young players to learn and grow.

Robin Lopez and Eric Gordon, two of the NBA mentors working the camp, took some time out of their busy schedule to talk with me about why they were involved with the camp, what they have been doing this summer, Robin talked about the trade of Shaquille O’Neal, Eric talked about the Clippers drafting Blake Griffin, they both talked about what they learned during their rookie season, both players vowed their respective teams are aiming to make the playoffs and a wide range of topics.

I like how Eric expects to make it to the playoffs, and how he talks so much about how important team chemistry is for the team to be successful.

Will EG start for you guys? Seems like he could be an offensive spark off the bench like a Barbosa type but maybe Dunleavy will wait a year or two to start him...

Except for the beginning of the season, Gordon was our most consistent player.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Gordon was one of our top 2 players last season, as well the most efficient and consistent. He won't be coming off the bench.

There is a -1% chance Gordon comes off the bench.

E.G. will hardly see the bench, let alone come off it. If you are really asking about how good he is, watch clips from last season.
I was upset the Clippers drafted E.G., he changed my mind before Christmas. E.G. is a selfless,Team Player that has M.V.P. potential.

Gordon off the bench? If he was going to come off the bench, Iverson would've been taking pictures at a Clippers media day weeks ago.
